Wife and I are in town visiting family and this is the restaurant they chose. This experience was severely lacking and the server is a thief.
TL;DR, check your bill for accuracy and make sure your aren't paying someone else's tab for no reason. Gentleman was charged $25 of our bill that was also charged to us anyway.
A round of drinks was placed on another table's bill. The gentleman wished us a happy 4th as he apparently had paid for our drinks, he gave the server his card before getting the bill and when he saw it, he figured it out and even named the soda specifically I ordered. Hey things happen, he said he should have gotten the bill first, and was well spirited about it. The gentleman is a Rockstar and I respect his attitude. The problem is that when our bills come, she had absolutely screwed it all up. And in the end charges us for my soda and the round of drinks he was already charged for. This is a huge no no for me, but without having that guy there to prove it, not much can be done without making a scene. Since this is my family and their location, I wasn't about to do that. I am normally a very generous tipper(20% is my minimum, 40% was my COVID standard) but I didn't leave any on this due to this action, the absolutely horrible quality and speed of service, and the massive amount of time just waiting to even get boxes.
Food quality honestly was really not impressive for me or my wife. I'd honestly just go to Taco Bell for better service, taste, and value(not saying that Taco Bell is good here).
In the end, I cannot stand people screwing customers over like this and it really infuriates me that some nice guy was taken advantage of while quite frankly there was nothing positive for me to take away from it except no food...
Read moreI went there for dinner on 01/19/2021. We got takeout and ate in our cars as usual. This wasn’t our first time there. The chips tasted bad and were very dark. I don’t always get burnt chips here, but they were dark enough that they were noticeably bad. My diabetic father ordered unsweetened tea and was given sweet. Mistakes happen and are usually an easy fix. I took the chips and tea back to be replaced. A lady working was very nice. She took the wrong/burnt items and came back with good chips and unsweet tea. A man (possibly manager in a pink shirt) came up and started aggressively talking to the woman in Spanish. He then started to yell at me, telling me that chips and salsa are extra. The lady corrected him because he obviously didn’t understand her the first time. He said okay and allowed me to leave. I decided to let him know that he served me poor quality food and sugared tea to a diabetic man who can’t have sugar. He obviously didn’t care and walked away as I was talking. Considering Mexican restaurants are all over the area, I do not recommend this sad place due to that man only. The lady did not serve the bad food, so I think he is the one who did. It was very dead and those were the only two workers I saw. I won’t review bad food unless it’s common or comes with a side of horrible customer service. You can’t serve bad or wrong food when you have a...
Read moreWe are regulars here. The food is very good, with only the occasional inconsistency. Several items are excellent: the chicken soup is delicious (but slow to come out); the Chile rellenos are my favorite, large and baked instead of fried (only available a la carte and on combo #4, I wish they had a meal with two rellenos but you can do that a la carte); margaritas are delicious and stout, they don't use that gross bright green fake mix that other restaurants use; diablo shrimp if you like spicy; the salsa is fresh with good flavor, not too thick or too thin. Warning, if you are gluten sensitive, their corn tortillas and chips do contain wheat flour. There is a wait on weekend nights. But even busy, the service is usually very good. It's one of few restaurants that we consider worth a wait. (Everyone has a bad day now and...
