El Ok Corral — Restaurant in Mount Juliet

This used to be one of my favorite places to eat Mexican food, so I hate to say that I do not enjoy it near as much as I did before. For starters, I am a big fan of salsa and find that it is a major part in deciding whether or not you like a Mexican restaurant... Unfortunately, the salsa here is lacking greatly. Its inconsistent as well. One visit it will taste overwhelmingly like cilantro and be pretty much inedible. Another visit it was as if they poured a bottle of hot sauce in a bowl and served it as salsa, being that it literally tasted just like hot sauce. I would feel that I was just being picky but I actually heard the table beside us talking about the salsa tasting of hot sauce as well. Secondly, so much of their food has gone downhill in regards to the way it tastes. The refried beans are not generally something that you would think of as something that could be messed up but during one of my last visits to the restaurant I literally couldn't eat the beans that came out with my meal. They had an odd taste I can't describe really, but it certainly wasn't a good taste. So the next time I was sure not to order them and got a simple taco salad... While it wasn't completely inedible, it was still lacking in a great way and wasn't something I wanted to eat much of at all. I'm unsure whe things changed here or what the change was exactly but I know that it doesn't seem to have changed for the better and that's disappointing. Otherwise, I have no complaints where the staff if involved. They are always kind, happy, knowledgeable and ready to answer questions the best they can. They provide fast and accurate service, make sure ur drink stays full and u have everything u need otherwise. The place is clean and the decor is welcoming. But I used to walk in and the place would be packed no matter the time of day, now I never see it as full as it was before and would love to drive by and see that full parking lot again. It's not even Ok...

Waiter was very closed off and unresponsive. Got our drink orders wrong, instead of coke, we received unsweetened tea. We pointed out we didn't order tea and he told us we did.. He never brought out the correct drinks

Never brought out our cheese dip appetizer.

When we got our food, it was cold. Not like sitting out too long at room temperature, but like sitting in the fridge and forgot to warm it up cold.

My chicken and steak fajitas for example. The skillet they were served on was hot, but the chicken, beef (almost non-existent), peppers and onions all had the temperature of being brought precooked and placed in the refrigerator. And then placed on a hot skillet to warm up.

The rice, beans, and pico that come with the fajitas, never made it to the table.

Told my waiter about the cold and missing food, he shrugged his shoulders and said "eh". Then he brought me the bill and I never saw him again.

Asked another waitress if I could speak to the manager, she told me she would tell him. However the manager never showed up.

Definitely won't...

If I could leave 0 stars I would. Walking in the hostess was talking on her cell phone looking at me like I was interrupting her. The rice had no flavor, the rest of my food would have been better if I was able to get a side of sour cream but my waiter never came back after he dropped my food off. It took me asking another employee for my check which sat there on the table for a good 15 mins as my waiter walked by without taking it numerous times and the other employees clearly seeing my face and waiting for assistance, no concern to if I might need something or my waiter possibly? I finally asked another server to cash me out, which she was super nice but told me I take it to the cashier... my server couldn’t tell me that and watch me sit here waiting 15 mins? Worst service ever. I came here based on reviews and I have no idea what everyone sees in this place. The best thing about my entire meal including my margarita would be the chips and salsa which I have had much better. I will never come back. Worst 1st experience having Mexican cuisine...
