Steak and service are about the only good thing I have to say about this place. The verdict is that we would not be back.
Food: We ordered a t-bone steak that comes with a pretty good side of tobacco onion and, my choice of, garlic mashed potato. The steak quality is great, nice beefy flavor and a good amount of fat but it's completely bland, not sure if it was seasoned at all. Putting salt on it myself is... fine but definitely nothing like a pre-seasoned steak. The garlic mashed potato is mundane but it was actually quite nice that it was not very salty unlike a lot of other restaurants. Despite all the relatively bland food so far, I still did not add more salt because the French onion soup was just so incredibly salty. That was a poor. We also got a bacon burger with fries. The fries were enjoyable however the burger was not. The bacon was a bit burnt and the beef patty was bland and dry, which really kills all chances of it being a good burger.
Service: The waitress was attentive and present, which I find to be, quite often, a rarity at restaurants. We appreciated her friendliness along with the positive attitude from the bus boy. When our drinks were empty, our waitress was able to spot it quickly and refill our drinks. That is seriously a rare sight.
Atmosphere: This is honestly the one thing that makes me not want to come back. This restaurant seriously needs a refresh. An old restaurant filled with history does not mean the standards need to be behind. The carpeted floor looks so worn out and a dirty brown. Fortunately the booth seats felt fine but the table was a bit sticky and I dared not touch more than I needed to. The lights were yellow and dim along with brown walls filled with brown picture frames. Altogether it did not make us feel comfortable dining there. I have nothing against the saloon theme but I did not want to feel the same sanitary standards as...
Read moreWow! No complaints. It was pricey but was fair and worth it! The service was outstanding! Jason the waiter was great. He anticipated our needs and was there when we wanted him. Plus what I found even better was the support of the other employees. From the waitress who without asking brought my daughter's crayons to the server who brought out the food were awesome. Ask for Jason he was in my opinion the nicest and kindest despite the quality of the others. Oh the bus boys cleared, cleaned, and disinfected the tables as soon as the guest left. The dishes were clean without me cleaning them with my water and napkin. Shot out to the dishwasher, good job. The bathroom was clean! They had a black server who showed you to the table that was so sweet. And they had line dancing too! I love country and listen to XTU but this is on may way home. The staff here was like Chick-fil-A on steroids with better food. They greet and treated everyone the same, like we all were they favorite cousin or uncle that they gave that little extra. Don't forget about the atmosphere. They played country and have a toy train going around the restaurant in the air. It's good for families. There was this kid crying and if you are or where a parent it was 6 or 7 and the young man was sleepy and I loved it. How the staff offered support of the parent. Oh yeah the food was really good. And the portions was big. Please don't reduce the portions or the rolls that make you want to smack your momma. The soup was good. And main course was tremendous. Well cooked and done. I hope ever visit to Prospectors is as good because I'm going to be a regular. We will...
Read moreSteak was good, sides were terrible and tasted old and COLD. They overcharge for a sad salad bar that was disgusting and dirty right by entrance ewe. No real selection. “Important”- I Told waitress “3” separate times it’s my husband’s birthday and wanted them to sing. Two other people had the workers singing but after 3 times they did nothing. We left restaurant area very dissatisfied! We sent back the sides, mashed potatoes, Mac n cheese also asparagus that was like a brick. Saw they had line dancing for beginners that night so we went and had to use the atm to get cash because it does not say on website that there is a cover charge or that you need cash. Even the old guy said he told them to put it on the website but they make money from the atm! Line dancing hall was nice but it was not beginners, all advanced. Asked instructor when they did beginners and was handed her card to make a private appointment to learn because it’s fast paced! Wow very angry by that point of being hit for more money. Summary, do not waste your time unless you want to pay cash for county line dancing and you must already know how. My husband had the worst food on his Birthday and a horrible time just watching others line dance. Never again! Bad food, no birthday singing and line dance cash only trap. Between food, drinks and line dance club I spent over $250. I am so furious at this place because my husband was truly disappointed on his 52nd birthday. Seriously don’t waste your money, the food is horrible and they don’t care if you send it back, you still...
