While going through the drivethru, I hopefully experienced an employee that rarely has customer interaction or is no longer with the place. The employee was a young, white male (perhaps 18) and possibly effeminate (I used this as a description, not as judgement, as I believe everyone should live and love in any way that is true to themselves).
My order was simple and small, a large drink and a couple pies. After receiving my total, I was told that it'll be a few minutes and to hold on. The teenage guy was flippant with his request and then didn't answer my additional question nor return to the speaker, as he was unclear as to whether he wanted me to sit at the speaker or pull up to pay.
I decided to pull up and pay at the second window (as the first was closed off), and was greeted with an extremely rude little man. His first response was to reprimand me for pulling up to the window to pay (even though I had completed my order and received my total), and then just held his hand out for my payment. He appeared rather angry over me not waiting at the speaker until he gave me permission to pull forward, despite having completed my order. After collecting my payment and nearly throwing my food at me, he shut the window without another word.
My theory regarding his rudeness is that he was looking to scam their order timers (that record how quickly service was provided, and can affect their job performance scores). He was angry that I wasn't naively on board, despite any delay in service speed being solely his fault (I was the only customer at the location, inside or out).
I thought about reporting my experience directly to the manager or corporate, but decided against it. If they had placed this little gremlin in this position to begin with, I doubt they have much interest in retraining him or disciplining him. Instead, I'll merely avoid that location. There's a far superior location only a few minutes away, in Mt Morris (near Kroger, on Saginaw Rd) that I've had outstanding experience with, and generally frequent far more often.
TLDR: There's a rude little man that runs drivethru in the early evenings that has customers wait at the speaker (after completing their order) until given permission to pull ahead. This is done to game their system that records service speeds and is tied directly to employee performance reviews. If a customer doesn't participate, knowingly or not, he takes it out on the customer. AVOID...
Read moreOn Friday at 3pm my coworker and I stopped there for our lunch break. As we walked in we were informed they were short staffed and had to use the Kiosk. So we did. We the proceeded to the register to pay for our our..... Needless to say 20 mins later after the 3 people behind is ordered, paid, received their food and left we still had not received our order. In fact the whole time our order number never appeared on the bored. I attempted to find out the problem was told hello by someone in the back (they were all back there) never asked me if they could help me or what I needed. Finally after about 30 minutes I went back to the counter, they asked me if I was from Uber. I said no I have been here 30 minutes waiting while everyone got their stuff and are long gone and I have alloted time to eat. He then proceeded to tell me my order was right here. I said oh really cause it never once showed on the bored and I paid you 30 minutes ago. He said DO NOT TALK TO ME THAT WAY. that made my coworker angry. We demanded a refund and they asked us not nicely to leave. They never once we're polite or even tried to figure out the problem. Immediately they got defensive and made excuses which were lies. Every time I go to McDonald's this is how it goes or they completely screw my order up. And these people want $15 an hour. How absolutely untitled this...
Read moreTowing a trailer so curbside pickup was our only option. We ordered a sausage mcmuffin a hot cakes with chocolate milk and a steak begal. We pulled in and selected our spot. App said usually a 5 min wait. Great! 5 minutes may just be faster then drive through. Well 5 minutes turned into 15. My husband went to the door which was locked. So he bounced over and tried to talk to the person through the window. Keep in mind I ordered from their app, to have my husband told oh yeah we don't serve steak begals through curbside but you can drive around and get your order from the window. Again towing a trailer drive through was not an option. So my husband said fine just give me a sausage Mcmuffin then I dont care I got hungry kids.
So another 7 minutes goes by and they finally bring our food out....oh wait had to go back and grab the pancakes that were forgotten. We get our daughters pancakes all cut and loaded with syrup to open our sandwich...we never even got the sausage mcmuffins that was originally ordered. We got egg and ham muffins. No chocolate milk...white milk.
I paid way more for a dang steak sandwich but couldn't get it. Couldn't get the chocolate milk. Then our sandwiches weren't even correct.
There was another lady that was already waiting when we pulled up she was still waiting...
