I looked into reviews and was very skeptical about eating here due to the ratings. I must say I was pleasantly surprised!
We knew out of the gate that we wanted a view, water front, people watching and either tacos or a good burger for dinner.
Parking was scary! As we drove through the mobbed lot we saw car after car with a “boot” on it. Then you scan a sign, put in your card info and pray for the best! Thankfully we did not have a booted car.
The hostess was a little off her game but nothing bad. Just seemed confused as to why I was asking for a table, yet the other half of my party was not present yet. He was navigating the parking horror and also seeing if there was a wild wait. Had I been told the wait was wild, he wouldn’t park and we would roll to another restaurant. Seemed very logical to me! She also strongly emphasized that if we chose to sit on the water we could not change our mind and be moved later. Guessing by her emphasis that happens often.
We were seated on the water of Shem Creek and had a great view. We loved watching the people, the boats, the wildlife and enjoying the sunset sky.
The menu was big and had something for everyone. My one son got a steak with fries, the other mahi with corn/potatoes and broccoli. My husband got a burger and I got fish tacos. The steak was not bad: good flavor and not shoe leather. The fries were really good. The mahi came with a sort of blackening seasoning which for a kid can be a problem. I do wish they mentioned the preparation when telling us what the catch of the day was but otherwise there is no way to know. My husband enjoyed his burger and felt it was pretty good. I LOVE fish tacos and these were okay but not great. They needed a crunch of some sort. There was slaw on it but it maybe sat too long and had no crunch. Maybe some pickled red onion too would’ve really helped. I did love the dirty rice. The cocktails were delicious. I loved the coconut margarita. The service was quick and the waitresses we had were awesome too! Ultimately I would go back again and perhaps order a...

Check in at 7:17 hostess walks us to our table at 7:25. However the server took our drink order at 7: 35 came back with drinks. Another waitress came out to take dinner order. She explained that she was four days new, and was shadowing another waitress. She took the order. I asked if I could have sushi, she then said I would need to go upstairs where the sushi was being served. She express how she felt about managers not allowing sushi in dining area, but it’s restaurant policy. I reply that’s OK. She was overly apologetic. I said it’s not a big deal . She expressed how she felt bad, and she would have her manager come speak to us. Once again I explain to her it’s not a big deal I’ll order some thing from the raw bar.. manager comes over he’s overly apologetic. I explain to him that I told our waitress that it was not a big deal. And that we did place our order for something else.. by this time the manager had already left. The waitress comes back, who initially took our drink order. I expressed to her the waitress that was shadowing her, never returned with order.
However, it’s about 8:40 we realize tables around us we’re getting their food before we did. I got up and I spoked to two managers, explain to them what happened. Two of managers spoke to the waitresses . They gave two different stories.. at this time, one of the managers noticed the main waitress was giving me dirty looks as she passes by while we were talking. He said he would deal with her. However, he then replies that the other waitress that took the order she was new, and that the waitress who’s not in training who had an attitude with us, should’ve came out and made sure we received our food. It was her responsibility he replied. The manager wanted to make things right by putting in our order but at this time it’s 850. Andrew Izrael, general manager gave us his business card for...
