The Front Porch Coffeehouse and Creamery — Restaurant in Mount Pleasant

Went to get breakfast and coffee with my daughter (she’s under 2) and ordered the bagel sandwich and a French toast to dine in. Took almost 35 minutes and had to take it to go, staff was unapologetic.

There 1 one other person in the shop (no one outside) when we arrived, after we ordered people steadily came in as the Market in the parking lot opened up.

I had to check in with them after almost 25 minutes and no food. Many other people were served for dine in and take out who came in after us. The staff was not the most friendly, and no apologies for the delay. Finally got the food to go after 35 minutes from ordering. When asked why it took so long, they said “there were a lot of orders and it had to be made” still no apology.

Just very poor experience and I know during the week when the owner is there, service is different....

This charming coffee shop & bakery is locally owned & we all know I love that! The decor of the venue is centered around the experience of sitting on the front porch of one of our many homes on one of the many salt marshes in the lowcountry! So classy & polished white relaxed and comfy. The coffees are amazing and they offer many coffee & espresso, and all the various combos those entail, with plenty of flavor syrups to appease any palate! The baked goods are beautifully presented in a glass case, and fresh baked selections of all shapes, sizes & colors make a perfect invitation to grab a treat! The owner is an awesome gentleman that can be found on-site often, behind the counter or in the kitchen helping, or sitting in the dining room working on administrative tasks. Great atmosphere, great ownership, great coffee, you just can't ask...

My boyfriend and I stopped here on our way out of Charleston. The experience left us mostly dissatisfied. The service was well-attempted but poorly executed leaving us with mistakes in our order and undesirable food and beverage. We ordered 2 bagels and 2 coffees for $30. The food came out incorrectly and the coffee was cold and unpleasant. After realizing the food was incorrect we tried to drink the coffee but the cup was leaking and tasted not to what I’m sure the owners standards would be.

The improvements we’d suggest as fellow business owners: have a more experienced team member taking orders, limit the menu options, make sure to-go orders come out as to-go and not on plates, and invest in better cups.

This place has great potential, starting small and investing in quality over quantity will improve this...
