I love this shop. The doughnuts are beautiful and they offer super interesting (yet well thought-out) flavor combinations. The coffee and lattes are divine and come in a refreshing variety of flavors as well. They sell one of my favorite brands of tea so I am elated to be able to go here and pick it up.
The plant shop is reasonably priced and adds a lot of character to the shop! They even have terrarium essentials for sale which is perfection. My boyfriend makes terrariums for hobby. It makes the experience more enjoyable for us, and gives me place to grab a gift :)
Iām not sure why people are claiming they rather have gas station doughnuts over these... Iām a pretty big foodie and LOVE doughnuts(all kinds). Every trip I go on I try to find a cool doughnut shop. I was super excited when I found baked, coming from Charlotte the food options have been underwhelming for me. Iām not too crazy about the doughnut options here besides Heroās which is pretty far from Mount P. I almost did not give this place a shot because of some of the reviews, but I am so glad I did. I think Bkedās doughnuts are amazing and satiate my doughnut craving without being TOO over-the top sugar wise. The recipe and style is unique. Theyāre reasonably priced, and absolutely have flavor! The dough itself is not super sugaryāonly the glaze and toppings. These are not deep fried doughnuts where itās 90% sugar and oil. Go to crispy cream if thatās what youāre looking for. Other options are joeys bag of doughnuts and Annieās Hot doughnuts. Those are more toppings galore, sugary deep fried kid friendly places. If you want something more mature, unique, aesthetically pleasing, healthy and good...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe've been many times now since the opening and I just can't get behind this place. The store is nice and clean, and the donuts are incredible eye candy... but I'm not there to eat the store's decor. And I can't seem to get a consistently good donut.
The apple fritters are occasionally above average -- moist, flavorful, and tender -- but it's been so hit or miss that I can't say they're a reliable pick. The one we got yesterday morning chewed like it was days old, I'm baffled.
The "filled" poptarts are mysteriously devoid of filling... each bite is 90% pastry and 10% jam, which makes for a mouthful of sawdust with a hint of jam.
The filled donuts were above average... the one time in two months they've been in the case to purchase.
I find the donuts to be dry (no matter what time of morning we make our purchase), and unnecessarily dense. Cake donuts are dense and delightful, that's fine. These are yeast donuts -- those are usually lighter and equally delightful, but these are laborious to eat. The ratio of donut to topping is way off, in my opinion. It's like biting into a loaf of chewy bread with glaze and sprinkles on top.
I really want to have an awesome donut place in North Mt P, but I just can't see returning here for the 10th disappointing...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSome of the best valued desserts in the Mount Pleasant/hello Charleston area Iāve come to find after being in town for a little.
I grabbed an apple fritter, a cookie butter donut and an Oreo donut.
The fried outside, along with the toppings of all of these were fantastic. The inside of the apple fritter was a little disappointing though, itās not the typical middle and more of a brioche donut.
By far, my favorite one was the Oreo. The first bite was a flavor sensation along with the spongy, airy middle. The cookie butter had the same great brioche inside, theyāre almost a little undercooked, which is nice.
The inside was very clean and the staff is young and very friendly.
I couldnāt get a pic of the food menu, but here is some examples: specialty donuts $3.50, apple, fritter $4, sticky bun $7 (itās massive ), cookie $3, pretzels...
