Gorgeous facility and location. Service was fine. Food was eh.
My daughters chicken tenders were delicious but I notice they left an aftertaste. Not unpleasant just 🤨.
My sister ordered the roasted chicken. She said it didn’t have much flavor.
My deviled crab was a laughable excuse for a crab cake. It was ALL stuffing, 1 piece of celery and 1 piece of onion. And a tiny piece of crab shell in my first bite- which left me hopeful so I ate an entire crab cake (stuffed shell). But it was hard to get through. Taste was fine but not having a single piece of crab was highly disappointing. It felt like it should have been a thanksgiving side.
The 2 sides weren’t any better. The vegetable served was green beans. For a $35 meal I expected fresh beans. These are not. They were clearly canned and cooked with some onion and corn kernels. I ate more of the corn kernels than anything else. The second side was Louisiana dirty rice. It had sausage in it- appearance was right but it was sweet.
I moved my plate to the empty seat at the table when I determined it wasn’t worth eating. The waitress walked past me 3-4 times before saying anything. She then wanted to know if I wanted a box. To which I replied no- it was horrible and explained what was wrong with the food. She went to her manager who said there was nothing they could do as there was nothing wrong with the food. I have never sent food back before. But when other people do the wait staff usually asks if you want something else. Not this time. The manager came out to discuss my dissatisfaction and I explained what was the issue with the food. She said she’d talk to the chef about the deviled crab. (On a side note-I’ve had it from Harris Teeter and it was 8000x better.) she argued that she knew the green beans were fresh and that’s how they serve their rice.
I’m not a professional chef, but I cook a lot. I could have pulled off a better meal blindfolded. I was give an...
Read moreWent in to have a nice dinner on the water with my family for a bachelorette weekend. It was our first time to Charleston. We really looked forward to having a good time here. Reservations weren’t bad. We got our table right away, but someone came to pour us some water and we weren’t sure if he was our waiter. My aunt was confused too because he did not introduce himself… So she’s asking him if he could take our drink order. He said to her, I can…. Like it was an inconvenience…. Then my friend ordered an ice tea. So he finally came back 15 minutes later with the drinks, but didn’t get her iced tea. So that was also weird. Then we ordered some appetizers, in which another waitress brought over; got some calamari, and my aunt asked her for some cocktail sauce, which she never brought over. The waiter came over and took our order for our entrees; I told him that withers waitress never brought us our cocktail sauce when it was too late anyway. He sort of apologized, and finished up with our order. Then 15 minutes later, we get some bread, which is weird because you get bread before your appetizers… Whatever… Eventually, we caught him and asked for the check, and to split it 3 ways. He had an issue with that too; at that point, my aunt was so over this waiter, she’s like okay however, we will just figure it out. We all put our money in, and he grabbed it, brought the cards back, and didn’t even thank us or even say have a good night. All in all, this was a horrible experience and the waiter was the worst I have ever experienced in my life. The standards have gone way down, and this is not acceptable, nor should we as paying customers have to deal with. I will...
Read moreSecond time visiting the establishment. First was great service an food. This past Friday we drove in from out of town looking forward to another great experience. We stood at the hostess station for more than 10 minutes waiting (open tables on patio an not busy) we had servers walk past us multiple times with out being greeted. We finally stopped someone an a hostess appeared. We were seated on the patio. We waited at our table for another good 10 minutes or more before our waitress appeared with her mask below her nose (if your worried about COVID, I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant as most staff were not properly wearing mask an tables are not socially distanced). We ordered the king crab an a salad same as our first visit. This time the crab was cold. Our food was delivered by another waitress. Our waitress stopped an asked how everything was. I hated to say anything but decided to because it was such a disappointment. She offered to have it cooked more an we just declined. We drove In an had skipped eating just to have the king crab here. We were starving at this point. The manager appeared an offered to make a few more so that we could continue to eat on the rest of our food. That would have been great an probably would have made up for the food except we never received it. The waitress appeared with the check. We paid an left. Such a disappointment to pay so much for cold crab an poor service. We didn’t push the issue an left dissatisfied. The only thing this restaurant has going for it is the view of the water. :( unfortunately we’ll never spend money to...
