I would warn people if you are a tourist and have more than 6 people in your group don't bother going here. My family and I came into the tavern around 6. It was pretty empty when we got there only a few people at the bar and a couple tables outside. We were asked if we had a reservation we said no, they said there was another 10 top who had a reservation but weren't there yet so they sat us. The waitress..I don't know if she was new or just didn't know how to take people's orders because instead of going down the line like a normal person she kind of went like a ping pong ball and went back and forth several times. She did tell us because we were a big group that it may take 25-30 min for the food. We said ok sure no problem. We waited for about an hour before anyone's food came out. Almost everyone's food came out and it was out of order.. One person would get a chili and another person got a corn dog and then another chili and then a burger.. It was really weird. I had ordered a French onion soup and I didn't see that for about an hour and a half. Meanwhile about 40 minutes after we sat down the other 10 top finally got there. Somehow even though they got there after us they managed to get their food before us. I don't understand that. My parents and I were the last to receive our food and that is only AFTER I went to the bar to ask for the manager which really didn't do much good. The manager was very defensive and kept making up excuses to why our food was late. I explained to her what all had happened ahd she said I already said sorry for that. So she was being extremely rude. When I went to the restroom my cousins bf went up to pay and the manager tried to play nice by asking where we were from and all that. She tried making excuses about how we didn't have a reservation and that a cook went home early and that they had a lot of tables to take care of and she said but that's not your fault, my cousins bf said well you are making it sound like it is, she apparently didn't expect that because she made him repeat that. Honestly she did make it seem like it was our fault for our experience. Between the wait, the service, the management and the food I would never go back. How are we as tourist supposed to know we are supposed to make a reservation for a group of 6 or more? It's a tavern for God's sake. It was also not busy at all when we got there so didn't think anything of it. My aunt mentioned the fact that the manager should do something for the whole table for the inconvenience of having to wait and again she got super defensive. Instead of giving 20% off the entire table or comping everyone's meals she picked and chose to take off the appetizers. She did take off my parents and my meal though but I think she only did so because I said you either cancel the order or you give it to us free. By the time my parents and I got our food it had been a full 2 hrs since we arrived at the tavern. I ate the French onion soup there and it was OK, not worth the wait if I'm honest. I told the waitress that I was at that point going to take the rest home with me. In addition my mom has diabetes and blood sugar issues. Had my moms blood sugar not been OK we would have had serious issues. The waitress never even came to check about drink refills once the whole time we were there. I think they were more worried about the bridal party 12 top out on the deck. The entire experience was frustrating and disappointing and honestly left all of us pretty mad. We were all fuming by the time we left. So beware if...
Read moreMy family lives in Mount Pocono and we were hungry. We were greeted with a stale “Hi” as soon as we walked in and told to sit anywhere. We chose this spot since the restaurant down the street was permanently closed. A quick google look because it had a 4-star rating, so we assumed it would be good. But I should have clicked “recent” and 1 star ratings, rather than the default first few reviews. Unfortunately, the food tasted like it came from the a grocery store down the street. Our waitress was nice, but she never checked on us throughout the meal. It seems like the business owner or manager is cheap, charging an extra $4 for fries with a meal and serving Lay’s chips as a “side”. Overall, my whole family left hungry and very disappointed. The atmosphere was nice for a bar and not busy on a Saturday at 1pm, but that’s all this place had going for it. The fryer oil is OLD. The oil also is not up to temperature because the fries were soggy and tasted like old oil. If they were cooked at the correct temperature, they would’ve been crispy on the outside and not soggy from absorbing all the oil. I ordered my daughter a pizza off the kids menu and they served me a piece of bread with chunky tomato pasta sauce and shredded cheese that has caking agents becaue it barely melted. No where on the menu did it say “french bread” pizza in the description. The waitress was nice and comped the meal. Refills are extra, even on the kids drinks. Would be fine if more than half of the drink wasn’t ice. A person from our party ordered black tea and received earl grey tea with a lemon slice. Do NOT assume that somebody likes lemon with their tea. It should’ve been offered on the side rather than already in it. I ordered the boneless barbecue wings and the ones at pizza hut taste better. I ordered a french onion soup and it came at the same time as the meals so I was stuck between eating cold soup or cold wings. I also witnessed a table get their food sooner than us, although we were seated at least 30 minutes before them. After I came home, I sat down and started reading the Google reviews, and they totally match the place. The four and five star reviews are probably from regulars or friends of the manager and waitresses. Or maybe they were decent at some point, but this was one of the worst restaurant experiences I have ever had. Our total came out to $100.60. I handed the waitress $101 and she said thank you. I was waiting for her to say “would you like your change back?” Or “I’ll be right back with your change” Even if it’s $.40, it’s the right...
Read moreTonight I went here with a party of 5, and unfortunately almost every meal we ordered was wrong. First both orders of wings came out boneless instead of bone in. And at this point the manager apologized and explained the waitress was new, which we were totally fine with. They also said they would take one of the orders off the bill. Then when refilling the water the witness brought back all the cups and straws that we already had but mixed up whose was whose. We let the other waitress know since it would be a good learning opportunity for the new waitress. Then our food came out. 2 of 3 quesadillas came out wrong, even after the waitress came back twice to confirm the orders. One of the quesadillas was remade correctly, the second one was remade incorrectly. At this point almost the entire meal was wrong and we told the waitress we were fine playing for drinks and the correct orders but after 2.5 hours of going back and forth with incorrect meals we weren’t going to pay for all the wrong meals. After speaking with the “manager” she let us know very professionally that “she agrees, the food wasn’t worth the money it cost and that the new waitress would not have been her choice as a new hire.” After much back and forth with the “manager”, she took off 20% and gave us a hard time because we “ate the food that was wrong”. After waiting hours for the food we would obviously decide to eat the whatever we could. We have been going to this restaurant for a few years, but we will defiantly...
