Santos Coffee Mountain Brook — Restaurant in Mountain Brook

I absolutely ADORE the Santos Mountain Brook location, I come here when I want to be productive on schoolwork or just to grab a casual coffee with a friend. I prefer the coffee they serve at Santos to any other chain coffee store or local shops, so I am willing to take time out of my schedule to park my car and go inside. Usually the vibes at this particular store are immaculate, conducive to a good environment for my work, unfortunately I may need to rethink what my preferred work environment is after today. Walking in today everything seemed normal, some of my favorite baristas were working and made my drink and food with care, some of the best I've ever had. I sat at the bar to complete some work and as I sat there I couldn't help but be distracted by certain demands, made by who I assume was a higher up or manager. The tone in which he was requesting the baristas to complete tasks was short and commanding which made the environment quite tense. I always feel very welcomed by the Mountain Brook baristas, but today it seemed as if they were doing the best under a lot of stress, which I'm assuming was caused by the higher up who was micro-managing their tasks. It was very hard for me to concentrate on my work when every few minutes a demand was given in a rude tone to some of the nicest baristas. I would love to continue being a regular here, but don't know after today if this is a work environment I can...

I usually get a drip coffee with steamed heavy cream but today I got a lavender iced matcha. It was so good I had to finally leave a review. LOL.

I am a regular at Santos Mountain Brook. I've tried several of your locations (and other local coffee shops) and Santos Mountain Brook is HANDS DOWN my favorite. I could be bias but it's probably your best location, service wise. The entire crew - from Austin, Alex, Collette, to alllllllll my girls (yes, they are mine because they treat me like I'm family LOL) - AND the strong smooth drip coffee really makes my day. You all really scored big when you established this environment. I've yet to find a coffee shop where I look forward to giving my money, as well as getting up on a Saturday morning just to get to my favorite table.

Nice addition to Mountain Brook and great to see a local company expanding with new locations around town. This was my first visit but I’m sure I’ll put this in the rotation going forward. The coffee is reliably good across Santos locations and I like their coffee sourcing philosophy/methodology and transparency. They have a nice selection of hot breakfast food (only available till 2pm) and their pastries come from Last Call Baking, my favorite bakery in town! Only slight negative is that the shop can get pretty loud since it’s pretty open and busy, but that’s to be expected. Indoor and outdoor seating on the sidewalk are both available. Friendly service and good wifi. Bonus points for alt cups! I can’t rank it among the top shops in town as nothing is over the top the best, but worth a visit...
