On my initial visit to this establishment, I opted for the Chicken Punahele Mini Plate, a novel culinary experience for me. The chicken's tenderness and flavor were exceptional and left a lasting impression. However, the rice was unremarkable, similar to what one would expect from a Chinese restaurant. While the macaroni salad was satisfactory, I felt it lacked the desired depth of flavor. In terms of customer service, there was a notable lack of it. Upon entering, I was unsure of what to expect, and the initial individual who greeted me merely pointed me towards the menu. When I expressed my desire to dine-in, the response was a simple "okay" followed by a quick departure. The atmosphere was also unsatisfactory, with a sense of uncleanliness and an overall unkempt appearance. I enjoyed the chicken, but it was not enough to warrant a return visit for me.

One of our favorite places to eat food from home when we visit Alaska. I can never remember the location if it’s Mountain View or Fireweed, but look for the truck with a big photo of Diamondhead (Mt.Le’ahi ) painted on the side. We always get a big steamy bowl of love ( aka saimin) and can get hot mustard so we love it. portions are impossibly huge, we love the sampler platter so we can get a taste of everything.. kalbi and katsu, Teri chicken, the best Mac salad, musubis… and just like most great Hawaiian diners, the decor is simple and cheerful . Photo credit : Hula Hands Facebook page Because look at the sampler 😍 Saimin photo is my own 🤙🏽

Easily worthy of a 5 star rating. Hula Hands knows how to feed people! Although it’s located smack dab in the middle of Mountain View and not Hawaii, one still gets a taste of the island upon entering the establishment. Potted tropical plants pop out throughout the place and island music is always playing. The staff are friendly and from what I’ve seen have all been Pacific Islanders! If you like Hawaiian barbecue and island flair, you’ll dig this little spot. I spent the entire winter of 2015 dining here for lunch and it never got old. Hula Hands for the win.

Got the sampler platter, was pretty good but halfway through, empty drinks for my whole table and all of us were eating with a dry mouth. The waitress that day never came back to ask us if we needed anything else even though the place is tiny and made it a point to never acknowledge us again when we tried to get her attention until we walked up front to pay, and barely acknowledged any of us like it was a burden to cash us out. I mean, we were blatantly ignored. I'm never one to pull the race card but dang, our group was mixed latino and caucasion and I've never felt that much palpable disdain from anybody I'm paying to patron their business. On the way out I noticed a pacific islander group come in and get the royal welcome so I'm sticking with the conclusion that if you're an islander, you're welcomed with a smile and attention but anybody else, stay out. The huge accumulation of black flies in the window was a pretty big turnoff, but even not as bad as the cold shoulder we got. Wont be...

I lived out of state for a bit and would tell every one of the magical resturant "Hula Hands" and their life changing kalua pig and mac salad. I couldn't find ANYTHING like it where I lived. I even tried duplicating the recipe, with poor results. I decided that the experience needed to do whatever it is they do, is experience I may never have. So I moved back home (after a handful of years) and stopped by to satisfy my craving. And folks, I was not disappointed. The flavor, the texture and even the serving amount were all as I had remembered. It is edible bliss at a low cost. If you've read this far, why not go just a bit further and try it for yourself. It will be an amazing new experience! Worst case scenario, it isn't your cup of tea and you've learned something about yourself. Regardless, I've always left Hula Hands happy and I hope they never lose their...

This is in no way meaning to rate their food because the food is awesome but the customer service… I walked in and went the cashier desk and nobody was there so I stood, no exaggerations for at least 4 minutes and still nobody then I sat down in one of the waiting chairs right in front of the cashier’s desk. 10 minutes go by and I was kind’ve confused because people are eating so I’m thinking to myself do they have servers or? Then the lady that’s working the desk is the same one I spoke with on the phone she was there and saw me while I was waiting no acknowledgment of me even being there. A simple hey, be with you in a moment would’ve been fine. I get it there’s good days and bad days but this definitely rubbed me the wrong way. First time at this Mountain View location. Fireweed is awesome in all aspects at least in my experience...
