In the icy heart of Anchorage, where culinary delights often freeze under the weight of mediocrity, Preference stands as a beacon of gastronomic excellence, proving that vegan fare can transcend mere sustenance to become a sublime art form. Allow me to elucidate my experience at this remarkable establishment, where each dish is a harmonious symphony of flavors that left even my most discerning palate utterly enchanted.
Upon entering Preference, one is immediately struck by an ambiance that is both inviting and comfortable, a true testament to the establishment's dedication to providing an unparalleled dining experience. The staff, with their impeccable professionalism, guide patrons through a menu that promises innovation and delivers it with aplomb.
The Bonaparte Hot sandwich with Auju, a masterpiece in its own right, is an ode to the rich, comforting flavors of classic cuisine, reimagined with a vegan twist. The sandwich, with its robustly seasoned filling, pairs exquisitely with the accompanying Auju, a dipping sauce so velvety and flavorful that it could easily stand alone as a dish worthy of accolades. Each bite is a crescendo of taste, leaving one eagerly anticipating the next.
Equally noteworthy is the hot honey chick'n sandwich, a creation that deftly balances the fiery warmth of spice with the subtle sweetness of honey. The texture of the chick'n, so convincingly tender, is a marvel, showcasing the chef's adeptness in crafting plant-based proteins that do not merely imitate but genuinely impress. The interplay of flavors here is nothing short of masterful, rendering a dish that is both comforting and excitingly novel.
Finally, the boneless wyngz, those delectable morsels of culinary ingenuity, are the pièce de résistance. Each piece, perfectly crisped on the outside yet yielding to a succulent interior, is a testament to Preference's ability to elevate vegan cuisine to heights previously unimagined.
In conclusion, Preference is not merely a restaurant but a sanctuary for those who seek the extraordinary in plant-based dining. It is a place where the alchemy of flavors transforms humble ingredients into culinary gold, where every meal is an unforgettable journey. It is my sincerest recommendation that one should not merely dine at Preference but should experience it, allowing oneself to be transported by the sheer artistry of vegan cuisine...
Read moreGO! Yes, it’s worth it! (In case you were wondering). Alaska has NEVER had a vegan restaurant like this! 6 of my non-vegan pals have thoroughly enjoyed their meals every trip & have gone back! I’ve been asked, “Really?! This is vegan?!” Large menu along with weekly off-menu specialty meals! I’ve eaten vegan food from all over the world & from many of the worlds largest vegan destinations so when I say I’ve NEVER had a true to taste Big Mac like the one Dan provides, I mean it! Gluttonous? Yes but, there are also healthier options to choose from! Speaking of Dan, the owner, he’s personable, passionate, & kind. It’s not often you see the owner of an establishment taking orders, running register, cooking your food, cleaning & keeping up with clientele. Kudos Dan! You & your restaurant ROCK!! Thank you for providing Alaska with the deliciously naughty vegan meals it’s been missing!
Personal favs: Big Mac, animal style fries, mozzarella sticks, chalupa, garlic bread, the homemade sauces like the 1,000 island & ranch! Breakfast is on my list to try along with the entirety...
Read moreHad the Green Chile Mac’n’Cheez, Chilly cheek Fries, Buffalo Mac’n’Cheez, Spicy Chickn’ sandwich, Jalapeño Popper, Cheddar Mc n Chz, Avocado Swiss burger, the Bonless Wings, and Greek Gyro, but have found that the Philly Mac’n’Cheez, Western Burger and Assade Fries, Avocado burger and the Wyngs ARE THE BEST. Don’t forget to try their Strawberry Lemonade Freezie. WOW! I order these favorite items every time. They now have DOORDASH! Best thing about this place is if doordash messes up the order, (which never happens) who cares! It’s still vegan and sure to satisfy your taste buds. I am always happy to tip, and come back another time in the day with extra love and support. Dan does a lot of work and is a one-man show. He is the kindness and ambitiously driven to provide the best for everyone. Customer service is great. Food is good, especially when Dan is in the kitchen! I feel blessed to be able to live a day when Anchorage got its FIRST Vegan restaurant. Manifesting greatness for you, perhaps a future chain of this lovely establishment, and freedom. ALL...
