NAN'S CAFE — Restaurant in Mountain View

Never leave a review but we were extremely disappointed in our food. My family and I were so excited for a new breakfast place but will not be returning. We waited a while for our food and noticed it sitting under the warmers for at least 5 minutes. Once it was brought to our table the disappointed and upset grew. My kids ordered the buicuts and gravy of which my daughter found a hair half way through eating. My wife ordered the chicken fried steak with over easy eggs and a pancake. She never received her potatoes, the fried steak was burnt and tasted of grease, it was also very dry and chewy, the pancake was also very noticeably burnt, eggs were not over easy but fully cooked and hard. The portion size for $16 was especially small. I myself ordered the chicken fried steak burrito for $9. When I was first handed it i laughed thinking I had orded a kids burrito and even asked for the menu to double check. Although the flavor was good it was extremely small. 3 peices of chicken and fit in the palm of my hand. It was about 4 bites and I was done and made a joke about how the burritos at Maverick Gas station for $5 were bigger and had more in them. I don't feel like the food portions or quality is...

I called Nan's Cafe for pickup for lunch super fast super hot and very delicious had the Philly steak sandwich with Homestyle potato chips. They were so awesome. The next day on my travels back up here I ordered the early lunch and had the berry Crepes which were amazing with strawberries whipped cream and blueberries with a side of scrambled eggs and potatoes which were also very delicious. Really cute small town diner, our waitress Jessie was so great and upbeat! The coffee was so good and the breakfast hit the spot. Pleasantly surprised at the price for great food portions! We had to wait a few minutes for a table to open, but well worth the wait for how busy it was. We will make this our new favorite breakfast stop on the way to the gorge now!...
