This place would have been an easy five stars for me, but…. We were in the mood for Chinese food today and as usual we went and searched for a spot that we haven’t tried yet. We landed on Seasons Noodles & Dumplings Garden. Typing the name out just now, I realized that we didn’t order any dumplings. If a dish is in the name of the restaurant, you have to try what they’re known for. With that thought in mind, we ordered a noodle dish and fried rice. For the noodles we ordered the Mongolian Beef over thin flat noodles and a chicken bowl on the side. The fried rice was Beef Fried Rice. This was an online order. I wish the online menu had a bit more details for each dish. I guess the name of them is pretty simple, but like the dumplings, I didn’t know how many you get with the order. Online ordering was fairly quick and simple tho. We received our order ahead of the promised time since it wasn’t busy there about 5pm on a Saturday. My son was pleased with the fried rice. He loves to get beef fried rice where ever we go and he said that this place tasted good. For the noodles, we opened our bag and were surprised to see the chicken sitting on top of the noodles instead of the Mongolian beef. The chicken didn’t have much, if any, seasoning at all. The Mongolian beef was separate in its own container. We mixed the meat and noodles together and began to eat. The flavor of the Mongolian beef was amazing and the hand cooked noodles had a great bite to it. The only thing we found distasteful was that it was a bit oily. We had to distinguish the oil from the sauce in each bite of the mixed food. Aside from that, it was a great experience and we will go back to try their...
Read moremy friend and i were looking for restaurants still open at 8:00pm (a difficult task in the south bay) and decided to try season's.
upon entering, there were a lot of available tables. service was relatively friendly. menu has a variety of noodle soups, noodles, and other meat dishes.
unfortunately i was pretty underwhelmed by the quality/flavor of the food itself.
// braised beef noodle soup ($) // i was excited to try the niu rou mian as it seems like this is the most popular dish. however, the soup lacked flavor depth for me. it was slightly bland and tasted a bit watered down? i was really looking for that flavorful broth with a bit of kick. the noodles were chewy and good, but the broth was disappointing. it was also lukewarm which did not help.
// pork and cabbage pie ($) // the pie came out hot and fresh. it tasted like how i thought it would, but nothing extraordinary. it was also really oily.
overall, due to other places in the bay area, i wouldn't come back but i'm...
Read moreThe food was good, you can find authentic hand pulled noodles here. However, there were several things that need to be improved with the service:
We waited for more than 45 minutes AFTER we ordered for our food (probably more than an hour total of waiting)--all the while, we could see the kitchen making noodles but only for the takeout orders. Please ensure a balance of fulfilling your dine in customers as well as takeout orders. prior to us being seated, we wrote our name down on the waiting list and we were the next ones to be seated. However, we saw a couple arrive after us and go to the takeout counter. After talking a bit, they were seated before us and ordered--likely because they had discussed getting takeout but then decided to dine in instead, and the server completely ignored the waiting list and seated them directly.
I would say with the current type of service, I would avoid going here during regular lunch or dinner "rush" hours as much...
