Stellar venue for performance art! The lobby is spacious and features photos from local artists, beautiful work. The seating is typical for a theater of this kind - a little cramped - but at every seat you will have a good view of the stage as this venue is not very large. I went there last December to see the Christmas ballet. It was such a beautiful show! It was easy to find our seats as well. Bathrooms were not too crowded. Parking garages nearby. During the intermission, I went to the bar located in the lobby for a glass of wine and the cashier/bar tender seemed overwhelmed by the influx of people that he was shouting at us like cattle for our order. In the frenzy I quickly just ordered the house red wine, which was pretty gross, especially for wine out here in California. What's worse is I had to end up chugging it before the show began again because you can't take wine to your seat. Wine is definitely not something to be chugged, let alone nasty wine. I blame only myself for not knowing this rule as I am not sure if there were signs explicitly stating this or if it is just general knowledge that you can't take drinks into a...
Read moreI've come here for 3 different shows namely 39 Steps, Radium Girls and the Nut Cracker, all of which have been held in three different auditoriums. 39 Steps has been hands down one of the best live performances I've witnessed during my time on the west coast purely due to the seasoned performances and script.
The place has free parking in addition to the ample parking in and around Castro Street. On most days, you'd be able to buy a ticket directly at the ticketing centre without having to buy in advance. The place has a small cafe that serves packaged food, hot chocolate, coffee and snacks during the shows.
Pro-tip: Season premiers are followed by happy hours and the chance to mingle with the cast over a glass of wine and...
Read moreMy friend has season tickets so she'll take me often to go see shows. I really like this spot. Every show we've been to his ranged from good to great. the restaurants in the area are also really good and varied, but it is mountain view so they're expensive; and by that I mean way overpriced. I've never had to pay for tickets so I'm not sure how the prices are, but if you can afford it I highly recommend getting out there. Parking isn't great but there is a parking lot half a block down if you get there early enough. The restaurants are so close you could park and then walk between the restaurants and...
