I can see why this place is popular. The staff is very friendly, it has a long history and is a Pittsburgh staple, and the pizzas are loaded with cheese -- it is by no means bad. However, I found the pizza to be slightly below average and overpriced in comparison to the going rate for Pittsburgh pizza (2 large one topping pizzas and a sandwich was over $60). The cheese itself tasted a bit bland and didn't have that slightly aged hint found in the best Pittsburgh pizzeria cheese blends. For my taste, the cheese was a bit too abundant, though many folks may prefer this. The toppings were not bad but also nothing special in my opinion -- pepperonis were standard thin and flat circles without much flavor/spices (likely purchased in bulk), not the smaller thicker slices with curled tips that you always hope for on a pizza. This place is definitely worth trying as many may fall in love with the pizza if you don't care much about flavor profiles and just want a thick cheesy pizza. Just make sure to bring cash to pay and to have someone to drive with to pick up the pizza if you do takeout since parking is not good...

This has to be hands down the worst pizza delivery experience ever. I ordered a Sicilian pizza and drinks. when the delivery woman arrived she forgot the drinks not a big deal she apologized said she would return with them. I said thank you don’t worry about it,paid the full amount, tipped her well&called it a day. So when I went to eat the pizza that was another story. The pizza was over cooked and did not taste very good. So frustrated and hungry at this point I decided to call and get the problem fixed. So I started explaining the situation to whoever answered the phone and mid conversation he hands the phone to the “manager” So after explaining myself twice this manager started arguing with me about how the pizza was cooked and hung the phone up on me. Extremely unprofessional staff and the pizza was awful beware don’t give this place...

I'm a transplant so this was my first time eating here, but I've heard so many people say how good Mineo's is and I was looking forward to checking out the hype...this is the first pizza I've ever disliked so much that I had to throw it away. We ordered a large pizza with pepperoni, spinach, and onions. The spinach was clearly canned and there was SO much of it that it overpowered everything else and tasted disgusting. Even my boyfriend who LOVES spinach on his pizza was peeling the stuff off. Not to mention the price! $30 for a pizza with canned ingredients is simply unacceptable.

The crust was pretty good and I did like what I could taste of the sauce so I'll give two stars, but I have no plans of ever buying...

While visiting the Pittsburgh, PA area, I went to Mineos Pizza House for the first time in 20 plus years. I used to eat this pizza with my grandmother while she was working at a dry cleaners in Mt. Lebanon. The person I remember who I referred to as Mineo wasn't there but the pizza was the same as I remember it. While we were there, there was a steady flow of customers stopping in for pizza. I had a scisilian slice of pepperoni and a thin slice with tomato. My dad ordered half of a meatball sandwich and it was more than he could finish. The sandwich was delicious and very filling. Give it a try if you are in the area.

I grew up eating Mineos in 90s going to Washington and Mellon School but haven't had it since 2010 until a few days ago. The decor, layout and design are identical to when I went regularly and pizza tasted exactly the same but bit more expensive at 2.25 rather than the 90-1.25 cent slices when I ate it a lot. It's perfectly average greasy pizza that hits the spot any time in a convenient location and seemingly has the exact same staff from 30 years ago putting their passion into it. Reminds me of 2.99 two slices and drink in Times Square New York City.
