This place is truly one of the most welcoming I've ever been to. My parents go there a good bit and finally brought me with them. As soon as we walked in, the young lady greeted my parents enthusiastically. I believe she was the daughter of the owner, and after we were seated, aaaaan older lady (the owner!) came out and greeted my parents. Parents introduced me to her, and then we got down to the serious business of trying to decide what we wanted! I finally decided on the Chimichangas. You can get them with either the chicken tinga or the ground beef; I got ground beef. It was topped with queso dip, and served with rice and beans on the side, as well as guacamole, pico de gallo, and sour cream. It was phenomenally delicious. I forget what my parents had, but if you were eating the chimichangas, you would be just as preoccupied as I was! None of us had room for dessert, (not even me!) which was a shame, because they all sound delicious! Fried ice cream, flan, sopapillas, chimichangos (a deep fried flour tortilla filled with cheesecake!), and their Mexican Sundae (Crispy cinnamon sugar flour tortilla chips served on a scoop of ice cream, whipped cream, and either chocolate or strawberry syrup) are all on the menu! Next time! As we were given our check, the owner came out to say goodbye to my parents, as her daughter whisked away our dishes.
The restaurant is on the small side; the building was formerly a Turkey Hill convenience store; the older ones all had a distinctive building shape, and it's visible here.
Even without my parents' superpower of charming everyone they meet, the people who work there (or own the restaurant) are very kind and friendly and helpful. They really do make it their business to not only make incredibly delicious food, but to also be personable and helpful to their guests. To anyone who would like authentic Mexican food, Norte Sur. You'll leave...
Read moreThis place Rock's...!!! The meals are really good. The service was good. The inside of the restaurant was cool. But remember... Don't judge a book by it's cover... The outside of the restaurant looks like a Turkey Hill mini market, but that's ok...!!! It was a Turkey Hill mini market at one time and they are making it work. I know first hand how much It costs to redesign a commercial property... I personally owned some properties, including restaurants at one time. It's super expensive...!!! My point is that, I don't care what It used to be... When I walked in side, I was pretty impressed. It was nice and clean...!!! The food was delicious and fairly priced. I hope they keep up the good work and don't change anything. Just another note... They just opened another location down in Mt Penn/ Exeter area at the old Charcoal Chef restaurant. I tried it and I loved it. Great job Norte Sur, keep up the...
Read moreI had gotten take out three times during the pandemic and loved it so thought we would go eat there. Wednesdays were advertised as get a free margarita. Well they have no liquor license so one was the limit. Maybe the no liquor license made them not allowed to put any tequila in our drinks. Then our appetizer came I ordered queso with hamburger. It came out like thick milk and the hamburger smelled exactly like dog food. Disgusting. Then my dinner came I got what I always got before and this was so dry and I ordered veggies to go with it instead of rice and beans and they tasted like clams. So maybe we need to stick with delivery. Maybe we should have known better because st six pm we were the...
