Went to brunch with my friend yesterday (Saturday, Jan 22) around 1030. They were PACKED. It's not even breakfast or lunchtime?!? Haha It's good to see local places thriving, though. This food was actually better than the location on the other side of town, and I was thankful to be able to get a decaf latte (it was a day of relaxation; caffeine doesn't help that!). I got the decaf flower child with oat milk (twice! It was really good) and waited for my friend. It's actually good that she was running late, as there were no seats available until just before she arrived. I wasn't going to order food without a seat available. It would have been good for them to coordinate with the neighbor to open the other side, which has couches. There were a few people just drinking coffee at tables while others waited for a seat so they would have a place to eat their food. Once we had seats, she ordered the caprese and her drink and then I waited for the line to die down to order my food. And waited. That line just didn't die down, so I went and stood in it. I will say the line placement at this location is awkward. Awkward for those standing in line and for those at the tables between which the line forms (if long). Thankfully, it seemed to usually go quick. Mine didn't, but this was at no fault of the establishment at all. The people in line were indecisive even after having stood and looked at the menu for an extended period of time. šŸ™„ I ordered the gluten free spinach crepe. It was really really good. I will say there seemed to be a lot of empty crepe, but the sauce they put on it made up for it. I also ordered hash browns, which were probably the best I've had in a while. I'm excited to eat the other half of my meal as a lunch later this week! I did pay about $40 with tip in total for everything, but that's not bad for 2 meals and 2 drinks. If you eat the whole big meal they give, it might seem expensive. It's a lot of food, though. Give them a try! I don't think...

Undercooked crepes. Had to argue with the staff to get some lemons. Apparently it's "only for the water dispenser". Finally after saying it was to attempt to make my crepes better the girl behind the counter rolled her eyes and said "I'll make it happen" and walked off. Their egg scramble was okay. Just displeased with the service.

Edit: Since the owner is passive agressive to the point of ridiculousness. I left the review on the same location. One on Google and one on Google Maps. This is not the first time that the restaurant has been passive agressive with any negative reviews. The person that obviously rolled their eyes at me is probably the person writing this negative response to my critique. It is not unreasonable to ask for lemon slices. Especially if there are beverages that often include lemon slices. Such as water, sweet tea, unsweet tea, etc. I initially left this establishment 2 stars. But due to the "owners" response to my critque of their rude service I have dropped it down to 1 star and will happily tell everyone about my experience and experience in response to my terrible service by the owners reply. It's not that I can't be made happy, I'm obviously used to good customer service. I've had better customers service at a waffle house. Considering most of my reviews have been 4-5 stars I'm curious as to your argument for my "propensity for leaving 1 star reviews" considering I leave negative reviews for negative service. But the fact that the picture of the undercooked food wasn't addressed... Hm. I did go to the other location, but considering it was only a pick up from a doordash order for myself in a rush didn't have much to say. The review for that location has been removed since it was supposed to be for...

Amazing gluten-free crepes! 🤤

Are you kidding me, Murfreesboro?! I don’t know how the entire tri-state area hasn’t heard about Joanie’s. I found it quite by accident while driving through the state. I stopped at that big ā€œcountry barrelā€ restaurant on the highway that shall remain nameless, and I’m so glad that no one came to seat me, because I started looking for breakfast places nearby. And Google Maps did not let me down!

I went a little overboard and ordered the savory Daybreak gluten-free crepe with bacon and eggs, as well as the cinnamon roll gluten-free crepe, which I took on the road with me. (Okay, okay… I took MOST of it on the road with me. What can I say - it was irresistible!)

I arrived an hour before their closing time on a Sunday afternoon and they were remarkably well-staffed, with nothing but friendly, smiling faces behind the counter. I asked the Barista about the latte flavors, and she recommended the nutmeg with cinnamon. It’s like she knew me!

Suffice it to say, I highly recommend Joanie’s for all my Celiacs out there. It will blow your gluten-free mind. 🤯

They also have tons of regular (but certainly not average) crepes and other amazing-looking menu items for those in your group who can eat all the extra gluten. šŸ˜

They even have an app so you can order ahead!

Gotta go now - I need to check for real estate in the area so I can move here and become a...

We were on our way back to Tulsa from the Smoky Mountains and had to stop somewhere in the Nashville metro for breakfast. Since this place wasn't too far off the beaten path, we decided to give it a try. The place is right in the "downtown" area of this little suburb of Nashville with plenty of parking (at least in the morning hours that we were there). As we walked in, there were written instructions on what to do. Which was to look over the menu then walk to to the back where the register was to order. We got tea, French toast, breakfast tacos, and the hot chicken sandwich. The wife didn't care for her breakfast tacos and described it as "something I could have made at home". When you experience a restaurant, you just kind of want something more. My "hot" chicken sandwich was okay. Maybe I don't understand the whole Tennessee/Nashville hot thing, but is it an actual spice level or just a flavor profile? Because everything that I've had that includes these verbage has had 0 spice, but the flavor cannot be mistaken. This place was no exception. I liked that the syrup wasn't too sweet. My little boy loved his French toast and gobbled it down. He's usually pretty picky so I can't complain there. Overall, cool joint with hipsters going in and out with okay breakfast. Would I come back? Probably.
