Newk's Eatery — Restaurant in Murfreesboro

I have been to this Newks many times it is the one closest and on my side of town. I have always had a hit or miss on food and service. But tonight was the Worst! First I went to order and was excited they brought back curbside pick up. For those who normally can't rally run in and pick up for various reasons is awesome.

I finished my order on the app and when I arrived and pulled up to the second door I clicked I was there. Put my name in and completed my check-in. The app told me that they would have my food out in a moment. I sat there and watched the staff clean up the restaurant and walk by my food on the counter many times. 5 minutes pass and my food is still not being brought out. I called the restaurant to be told by someone that they don't do curbside. When I stated that the app said different and allowed me to pick that service and confirm that I was outside. The person stated again they don't do that. I asked can someone please bring my food to me. They stated again they don't do curbside. I hung up walked in and picked up my food which on the receipt plainly states curbside. I decided to ask who just answered the phone. No one spoke up. So when a lady in a red shirt came around the corner I asked if she was the manager. She stated yes and I asked if she answered the phone. She stated no. And one of the two staff cleaning the restaurant spoke up and said she did. As I showed her my ticket and stated - You do do Curbside., The lady in Red stated to her that "oh, we do do curbside again". I said that they needed to get their act together. Fast forward and I get home. My Lobster Bisque soup looked strange and I was right. It is nothing but the grease and bottom of the barrel. There is absolutely nothing about it that is lobster. It is oil/grease and they threw a few chives on top absolutely nothing else in it. My slice of strawberry cake is barely half an inch in width for over 5 dollars a slice. And well I am afraid to open up my salad and start trying to eat it.

I don't write reviews unless the service is excellent or absolutely the worst ever and well as you can see from how long this review is this was the worst. I will drive across town the next time I want Newk's or well drive to...

In a hurry? Skip the line! Man this is the most frustrated I’ve been in a while. We came here during Sunday lunch and ordered from their tablet. It is cold so we looked all over for a clean table or an employee who may bus one of 15 empty tables… no such luck, the employees who watched us searching broke eye contact the second we spotted them so we bundled back up and sat at the MOST VISIBLE PATIO TABLE in front of a WALL OF WINDOWS. We were the only ones outside. We had ordered a soup and salad. We sat waiting for thirty minutes and when I walked inside I saw the couples in line BEHIND US walking out after enjoying their meal. I go to a girl and ask if we could check on our order, she says “it’s been ready we couldn’t find you” OH wonderful, I didn’t realize it was standard procedure to give up on serving a PREPAID MEAL to your patrons. When she brought it out the soup was glazed over and I watched her take it from a ledge that was non warming so it had been sitting for thirty minutes. When I asked for new soup they rolled their eyes. Horrendous service and NO ONE checked on us of offered a discount or comp for our terrible experience, leading me to believe this is standard operating procedure around here. Horrible experience. Came with my 2 kids and I ordered the new special salad they had and we sat on the patio. After a few minutes of getting it, I noticed there were no beans.. Ok, honest mistake. I went and told the lady in the front and she apologized and she said she would bring it out to me. Waited a few minutes and looked back and she was back behind the cashiers stand. I went back to ask her for the status and she said oh... We are out of beans. (That's why I got the salad).. she asked if I wanted more avocado instead. Really wanted to just give it back and get a sandwich instead but didn't want to be a hassle so I told her to bring me an egg. So by the time I get to eat, my 2 kids are already done.. Wanting to go.
