Visiting the Nashville area and we met up with a friend down here to try out Puckett's. we ordered the fried green beans, smoked meat platter, and a nashville hot chicken sandwich with mac n cheese. Everything was reasonably priced which was good. The fried green beans were tasty and crunchy and they gave you quite a bit. The Nashville hot chicken wasn't very spicy at all and they didn't have any heat levels to choose from. The mac n cheese was pretty awesome though. As for the meat platter, it was decent, the brisket was kinda dry and needed their bbq sauce. I tried both the sweet and the spicy separately and ended up mixing them for a tasty sauce. The pulled pork was very tender and juicy. The sausage was really good, it had a nice crunchy skin on it. The collard greens, though I'm not an expert by any means, were kinda bland compared to others I've had. The green beans were your normal ones you get at most places with bacon in it which was pretty good. The service was pretty good, the girl brought me sweet tea with no lemon instead of unsweetened with lemon. Once she corrected that, she was pretty good on refills and what not. Overall it was pretty good, award winning? Maybe for a competition, but not what I ate. I would definitely come back to try some other items. The atmosphere of the place was very comforting and relaxing, they have a bunch of old signs and shelves with food products, making it feel homey. Thanks guys! Maybe i will see ya again in the future!

June 2018: Visited after a bit of a hiatus...the food just wasn't as impressive as it had been previously. Saw that they had a new menu so I decided to give it a shot. Really did not see anything that appealed to me that was "new" on the menu so I went with what I knew...the Smoked Meatloaf. Sadly...it was just "OK" and not as good as I have enjoyed at other Puckett's locations. What really saddened me is that the Smoked Bologna is off the menu...BOO Feb 2017: Finally… Puckett's Grocery & Restaurant of Murfreesboro is open. It is great to have another restaurant opening on the beautiful Murfreesboro Square…looking forward to more improvements here. I must report I am a tad biased having enjoyed meals at four different Puckett’s locations, the experience is always the same. Great food with a local flair, friendly service, and a reasonable price. I ordered my favorite item at Puckett’s…the THICK slab Smoked Bologna that they also toss on the grill. For me I get it with toasted sourdough bread and a side of coleslaw which I slather all over the sandwich and then top it off with Puckett’s BBQ sauce. While the smoked bologna sandwich was awesome, I also had their side salad with blue cheese dressing (homemade) and it was fresh and delicious. Also love they showcase local beers…the smoked bologna sandwich went extremely well with a Mayday Brewery Boro Blonde!

My husband and I tried Puckett’s for our date night before bringing our entire family, and it was absolutely disgusting. He ordered a rib eye, mashed potatoes and gravy, and mac n cheese. I ordered the salmon, sweet potatoes, and mac n cheese. The rib eye had to be doused in A1 to even be eaten, and only 2 bites could be tolerated because the steak itself was NOT seasoned (not even a speckle of salt or pepper). The salmon I ordered was cold, and had absolutely no flavor whatsoever (I’ve had better salmon at Cheddar’s). The Mac n cheese was terrible, and I had high hopes due to the amount of reviews I read. Salt and pepper couldn’t bring life to it. We did have a pretty good waiter, and the live band was cool too. But the food, was utterly ridiculous. We will never come back, but at least we tried it for ourselves. I will add, the presentation of food was nice, but looks are V E R Y deceiving. In total with our 2 meals, an appetizer, and tip, it was a total waste of $85. If you want real seasoned southern food, trust me when I say this place is not it whatsoever. But, if you enjoy out of the box food with not a speckle of seasoning this would be perfect for you. We had to go to Famous Dave’s for lunch to give our taste buds some seasoning and real flavor. *the photo is of what I managed to take to go, we practically ran out after paying the check

There are very few places that I will NOT eat at. I used to LOVE Puckett’s. Sadly, I can no longer entertain that statement.

The service was awesome! The girl was training, and did a great job! I don’t understand how the poor girl makes any money as it was dinner rush and there was only about three other tables. I felt obligated to leave each girl a very heavy tip. I ALMOST left her a note on a napkin saying the service we received was top tier, and really the biggest tip I could supply her with was “you can make much better wages working at Texas Roadhouse or Primrose.

My hubby and oldest daughter got the country fried steak and ate every bite. Both said it was amazing. They paired their meal with mashed potatoes and said they were yummy and that their sweet tea was the best! I got the BBQ Nachos. The meat was not good at all so I picked the meat off. The house made queso reminded me of the cheese sauce that you get out of the machine at a gas. Kiddos ordered PB & J, which I rarely allow as a meal. Both took one bite and was done. I’m not sure what kids Puckett’s menu coordinator raised, but I’ve never met a kid who eats cantaloupe or honeydew melon— besides me when I was a child. The fruit cup had two tiny quarters of a strawberry and two good grapes and one rotten grape. My daughter ate the strawberry pieces, the two good grapes and came unglued when she realized the third was rotten. The

I based this review solely on my meal and my two younger daughters meals since they can not speak for themselves on a Google Review. I did not factor in my oldest daughters opinion or the hubby’s opinion as they can leave their own Google Review if they feel persuaded to...

We have always loved Puckett’s. We love to take visiting family and friends when they’re in town too. The fried green tomato BLT is always a huge hit and so are the fried pickles as an app. However, the disappointment has just been recently. About a month ago we went with friends and my husband ordered the Nashville hot chicken. The chicken was dry and hard like it had been fried too long...not to mention it was incredibly salty. Not good. Then we visited again this week with a different group of friends. We had a large party and our waitress was awesome. She did such a good job of checking on us and communicating the issues of the night. (But she shouldn’t have had to apologize.) My whiskey platter with blackened chicken was really good. However, when we asked for drinks, the bar was out of the soda we requested. So we switched drinks. Then they were out of the cherries used in the second drink. Finally the bartender worked with us to concoct a new cocktail and she did an awesome job too!! Thank you to her for her willingness to get creative. But then after ordering our meals, our waitress had to return to the table to tell us they’re out of Brisket. Brisket!!?!? It’s on multiple menu items. And it was only 6:30. Not really late enough to be running out of food! Needless to say my husband was not happy. It was a bummer of a dinner and our bill was a couple hundred $$’s. I write this review mostly to say we want Puckett’s to stick around. We had always enjoyed the food and the service and the live music is a great addition to the Square!! Please figure out what’s happening and make the necessary changes. We’ll be back and hope that things are on...

Ordered two family packs 9/17/22 for pick up at 3:20pm. Received order and drove 30 mins home only to find a pound of BBQ and quart of Cole Slaw had been left out. Called restaurant and spoke with someone who stated we could come back and get the two items left out. Drove 30 mins back to the restaurant to receive the two items left out of the order and then drove 30 mins back home. Once home found that instead of a pound of BBQ we were given Cobbler which was not ordered. Called and spoke with manager who offered for us to come back to restaurant (for a third time) and he would personally make sure I received the correct ordered items. At this point I refused to drive 30 mins back and requested a refund for the Pound of BBQ. The food received over an hour earlier was already cold. It’s was for a birthday party that was delayed due to running back to the restaurant twice already. Was told by Nathan he would have to speak to his general manager. When Nathan called back was told they could not refund any part of my order since it was made online and the IT department would have to be contacted. Stated his general manager had my number and would be giving me a call the next day (Sunday). No call from anyone Sunday. No call from anyone Monday. My family and I have been frequent visitors to Pucketts for a long time and the lack of customer service and quality of food has really gone downhill over the past 6 months. What a shame that a once well ran restaurant has turned to be substandard and developed such a...
