The service was not worth the food.
I honestly hate writing reviews like this. This restaurant seems to suffer from employees that don't care.
The food here was very good. It was good for your stereotypical hole in the wall Mexican restaurant kind of way. Everything was flavorful and well made. However, what this place has going for it stops with the food.
The decor is clean and excellent but very crowded. It seems like they have tried to cram as many tables and chair into one space as possible.
The service here was absolutely atrocious. I've spent a lot of time in the food industry. This place could benefit from a floor manager that knows what they are doing. The staff seemed overworked and lost.
The entire time here I only saw my waiter twice. Presumably he was sent on break after we arrived and no one was set to cover his tables. We received no courtesy visits and no refills. When he did come back from break he spent more time flirting with a young lady than he did attending to his tables.
As I said, this place could benefit from some fresh staff. This would be a five star restaurant if not for the service...
Read moreI am a local resident, business owner, and business operator. I visited Telinga's on April 30th at 8:42 P.M. which is 18 minutes before closing time and we were refused service and were told they were closed. We then checked online and it said they were open and they closed at 9:00 p.m. When we tried calling they would not answer the phone. I have referred many people to this restaurant through my businesses, but sadly I will no longer be doing this. However it was a blessing in disguise as when we went around the corner Zefe''s Taqueria food truck was opened and we ordered and it was cooked fresh as we waited. This was by far the best and most authentic Mexican food I have eaten since leaving California and it was very much worth the wait. I have been hesitant about eathing at Telingas for some time as my friend found a stick in their food they ordered from there and when my friend called the restaurant to let them know they simply said sorry and did not offer to give her another order or to pay for the one with the stick in it. I will no longer be visiting or referring people to...
Read moreFirst, it's a dry county, so the lack of a margarita is not their fault. The good: fast seating and service on a holiday weekend for dinner. Kid's meals were delicious. Horchata was tasty. Staff was friendly and courteous. Cons: no salt on table and no salt was used in my meal as far as I could tell. Very bland. They were out of hot sauce when I asked as well, so there was nothing to help it. I also think my meal (enchiladas azya) could have been cooked a little longer. It did not taste like they had been baked, merely warmed in the Tortilla enough to melt the cheese inside. My husband said the same for his chicken enchiladas. Chicken was fully cooked, ie, precooked chicken, but tortillas not very baked in with the sauce. Also, when I unwrapped my silverware the fork had cheese still crusted onto it. It seems to be the only Mexican joint in town. It will do, just bring your own salt and hot sauce and maybe a spare fork. Still tipped well because these guys were so busy and handled the crowd well. Perhaps the food is better when they are not rushing to move...
