Save yourself the money and food-borne illness.
Edit: It’s been about 4-5 hours and my stomach is still reminding me of the regretful trip my fiancé and I took to Xiaos’. The food all had the same melty and mushy texture. The flavor was nonexistent in most of the food, but trust me, if you catch a hint of flavor you’ll never forget it. We both experienced new flavors which we wish we could wipe from our memories. Fear not though, if you have a wretched experience with the entrees, you can treat yourself to a mediocre tiramisu, and some radioactive green ice cream as I did. This genuinely could be the worst buffet food I’ve ever eaten, and I had both Ming Court and Shoney’s in Dickson. Save yourself the tummy ache, stay away.
Edit 2: As someone with regular BMs Xiao’s DESTROYED me. For 40 hours straight I was clogged like a pit bull who ate 3 and a half pairs of ankle socks. I knew my time was near when, inside the Walmart, I felt a gnawing ache grow inside my belly. I tried to ignore it but foul hints kept floating towards the senses of my fiancé and I. It wasn’t until an hour after this that I was freed from the wrath of Xiao. Please, if you even have an inkling of hope that you might find a delightful buffet behind those doors, abandon that hope....
Read moreHad lunch here this afternoon. The positives..... very clean, staff very friendly, fairly priced at $11.99 for adult lunch. One person ordered crab rangoon off the menu and it was served fresh and hot. Negatives. The honey chicken and teriyaki chicken were both extremely dry. Like bone dry. The chicken on a stick meat was moist, but the pieces of meat were very thin, not like the big chunks of meat at most other buffets. The chicken and broccoli had a very fishy flavor to it as if some type of seafood was cooked in the wok prior to that dish being prepared. The lo mein was lacking flavor and very light on ingredients. Most of the food was lukewarm at best. As far as selection it is very limited compared to Yoki Buffet. While the waiter was quick to refill our water, the dirty plates from our 1st and 2nd trip to the buffet were never removed from our table while we were there and ended up being stacked on the table. The restaurant was not busy at it was 1:30pm and this was a big let down. Overall I have to say I tried this place because of the numerous positive reviews. Between this and Yoki buffet, Yoki is significantly better in both selection, taste, and freshness, however Xiaos' has them beat on service. This is just my...
Read moreDon’t get me wrong, I love Xiaos’ over near Sprouts and have never been disappointed. I was excited to try this buffet especially since the early lunch menu is $11.99 per adult and everything is labeled unlike most places here in the Boro. All the servers were friendly and did their job well, and the atmosphere felt like I wasn’t even in the strip mall near Walmart and the laundromat. The traditional foods like fried rice, lomein, chicken, broccoli and chicken, general Tsk chicken are all decently good and they have some yummy green beans. However I took some stars off due to certain lines in the buffet and I’ll tell you why: the calamari was way too chewy, the crispy shrimp was actually doughy and not entirely crispy, the clams had sand throughout them that made me lose my appetite, and the cheese on top of the cooked mussels tasted gross. I got a wrapped rice dish that I assumed was savory but after taking the tiniest of nibbles and smelling it I couldn’t eat it at all. I would stick to the chicken, veggies, noodles and rice but would recommend staying away from the seafood section lest you end up with an...
