Los Portales Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Murray

Ok, so I have never written a negative review because people/places have bad days. But ever since they opened in the new building, the food and service have been terrible (servers who act like they deserve your money and are almost insulted when you ask for something, food with no mexican flavor at all). But today took the cake.

I had felt fine all day and joined a large group for dinner. I should make it known that I dont have stomach trouble often at all (25 yo active male). Half-way through my meal (20-30 minutes after I began eating chips) I got horribly sick and barely made it to the corner. Not only did they offer no assistance, but they all but refused to give my wife napkins so she could help me to the bathroom. Once there, I talk to a guy leaving saying he had been throwing up and a guy came in after me with the same symptoms. I have no clue what was going on in the women's room.

We go to leave some 25 minutes later and no one had even begun to clean up the mess I made (roughly 6 feet from where people were eating, even after my wife offered to clean it up herself...because, eww), the manager scoffed at my wife and completely dismissed the possibility that they were making people sick, and made us pay full price for the meal.

Be careful eating here. If you're looking for a restaurant with friendly wait staff and a welcoming atmosphere, this isn't the place for you. On the bright side you can experience the opposite of those feelings in a beautifully decorated architectural...

Very poor service from one of the main men servers! He was very rude to begin with, very quik short responses, and when we asked for extra cheese and napkins it bout killed him to get them, then when we ordered asking for something to not be put on the plate he rolled his eyes! Had to ask 4 different people (including him) for a plate our server finally brought it out and slung it on the table, when after asking him for a sweet tea refill he placed it on a knife on the table and about spilled it on my daughter and wife. Never have I ever been treated this way at the place before! Idk if he was having a bad day or night, he should not have treated us this way! We will return but if we get this server again, I will politely ask for another server or leave!! Other than the server that night i have nothing but good things to say about...

Always have enough food to fill everyone with leftovers. Great variety and so far have never been disappointed. We keep going back for the food. Service was great last time as we had a meeting to get to and we started late. Just two of us tonight. Went in about 7PM, and we left full about 7:30 pm. Camarrones a la diablo were very good and even spicy for me. Wife's pechuga frita was good and very tender.

Went for lunch with my two kids. Daughter ordered chicken dish but miscommunication gave her beef instead.. Got it corrected very quickly. Rest of meals delivered correctly. I had leftovers from the lunch menu. Service was great.

Went with a group. They took our food orders based on how we were going to pay. Great food for the price, and decent service. When we got low on chips they delivered more. Enjoyed the meal...
