I’ve driven by this restaurant on so many occasions and have always admired how appealing it looked from the outside, but have never stop to actually dine in. Mainly because I’m not a huge wine fine. I like sweater drinks that don’t cause my cheeks to pucker, but my husband came home for lunch and wanted to treat me and my youngest of 8 kids for lunch. The youngest is 2 by the way. Anyways, I was pleased to go out and have a mini date with my husband and I truly had wanted to visit and try it out, as I love to visit new establishments and find treasured places to be on my favorite list. With this adventure awaiting we went. I honestly love how it is set up. I love the outside tables and chairs with the fireplaces to create warmth and comfort for its customers. The inside is just as cute as the outside. We did come during lunch almost as they opened, so we did miss some of the lunch traffic I’m sure. The customer service was ok, not really eager or friendly, but it was modest. Nothing to write home about. I did find they had some drinks, but they were out of the mix, so that was kinda disappointing I kinda wanted a Bloody Mary, oh well. They had mimosas and sangria, but as I mentioned I’m not a huge wine or beer fan. Oh well! When we did get our food it was really good, which kinda made up for the drinks. I honestly loved the fries and they even put shredded Parmesan. I do have to say fries were definitely the highlight. I ordered the truffle burger medium rare and it was pretty good. It even had caramelized onions and truffle aioli, which wasn’t to bad. Of course the 2 year old had the chicken strips and fries which looked perfectly cooked, thank god. See a lot of restaurants make kids meals and burn it and then guess what they won’t eat it and who has to suffer the parents that paid for food quality and you know kids. If it doesn’t look right or smell right it’s all over. Husband ordered a blackened salmon burger, which he liked all except the mango salsa, or mango chutney or maybe it was a mango something or other. Anyways, all in all the experience was good. A little pricey for lunch. Mainly it’s dinner prices at everyone other restaurant, but still was good and I would go again to try...
Read moreWe had been looking forward to visiting Downtown Murrieta for a while. We made a day of it with shopping and lunch. We arrived for lunch and was sat quickly, the restaurant was not crowded. We were served water (made me happy, I was thirsty from shopping). We order appetizers, my husband ordered a beer and I asked for a lemon for my water. Our appetizer arrived about 40 minutes later, no sign of the lemon or my husband's beer. The person who brought our appetizer asked if we needed anything I said, plates (since we were sharing the appetizers) and my husband is still waiting for his beer and I'm waiting for a lemon and water that needs refilled (our waters were empty by this point). We stay polite the whole time hoping it would help us get what we asked for. Now, 20 minutes after getting our appetizers we ordered food, and that is when my husband's beer shows up warm (still no lemon or more water) by the way we never received the plates for the appetizers. We waiting for our food finally the waitress brought water, I mentioned if there was ice in the water pitcher I would be okay if it fell into my glass while pouring, she said their was no ice and she would bring a cup of ice (she offered I didn't ask), I said thank you that would be great. Food arrived almost 40 minutes after ordering, ice that she offer had not come. But, the lemon and a another beer we did not order came. Towards the end of our meal the young person who served our food came back and asked us if we need anything and we again mentioned ice, at least she brought that back (she was the same person who we asked for plates). About 5 minutes after she brought a cup of ice the waitress brought another cup of ice. We were there for over 2 hours for 2 appetizers, kids plate, salad, BLTC and a dinner salad. The service was more than disappointing, tables around us were getting served quickly by the same waitress. Honestly, we were polite, kind and tried to be understanding but there was no excuse. We don't recommend it if you are in a hurry. I am give the one star because the BLTC...
Read moreWe stood at the front desk near a person working on a tablet and waited over 10 minutes when we asked this person to get someone to help us. Turned out she was the person but she was busy doing something to clear the tablet. I just wished she at least told us she sees us and will be with us soon. There were others behind us wanting to be seated too! So we got a table and some menus. We then waited for over 15 minutes until we flagged someone to get our wait person. So far, no service! Not a good sign. We finally put out orders and actually got some water. 30 minutes have gone by and no food. So far we have spent about an hour here with very little to show for it. We got our waitress's attention and asked how long til we got our food. It came about 5 minutes. I got the fish and chips and hubby got the turkey croissant sandwich. You can see the dishes in the pictures that the fish and chips looked a little on the dark side. I figured that should be okay unfortunately it was not. The outside tasted a little bitter, as in burnt, and the inside batter close to the fish was raw!!! I'm thinking the oil was too hot and the batter too thick. The only good news with this whole visit were two things, they took the fish and chips off the bill and the Cali Creamin' beer was very good. If you want to try this place, hubby said the turkey croissant sandwich was good. I don't recommend the fish and chips. Last thing, they have their parking lot so at least you can put your...
