Momma Goldberg's Deli — Restaurant in Muscle Shoals

Oh man has this place gone downhill. Used to be the best place in town. New ownership came in about a year ago and slowly changed everything. To begin, portion sizes turned smaller and they took pickles off the plates. Secondly, they got rid of the awesome Momma Goldberg’s plastic cups and they now do cheap styrofoam cups. Then they decided to get rid of Wednesday dollar nachos (their biggest promotion). I was already to the point of never going again, but I decided to give it another try about two weeks ago when I learned that they raised their prices once again! $5.25 for Doritos with cheese on top and $10 for a sandwich. If you want to get a drink you will be close to paying $20 and it’s not worth it at all. I’m not sure what caused this restaurant to turn to cheap quality but somehow still raise prices. Also don’t expect to get a free water cup they charge for that too. Just go to Texas...

Why in earth would you buy a sandwich from a big chain shop when there’s a local guy here with an amazing deli? Yes, it’s technically a “chain” now but they started here in Alabama (Auburn) and only have a handful of locations. It’s locally owned and run, I see Preston just about every time I’m in there. The food is always good, and when I come in if I’m not feeling like one of my many favorites (Reuben, mamas love, buff burrito) I just get them to make me something random. It never disappoints. With that being said about the food, the atmosphere is also really cool. The music is always chill and fits the atmosphere. If you need a break from your everyday meals, I highly recommend you come and eat inside the Deli. Order you cuban sandwich with Baked chips & a wonderful fountain drink. Dip your cuban sandwich in sauce then take a bite of dill pickle spear wash it down with Drink! It is a bucket list item! All their sandwiches are amazing deli fresh sandwiches.
