My first encounter with milk can burgers was last year when I visited their food truck. I have to admit I was wowed. At the same time I wasn't shocked by the quality taste and freshness of their product based upon who owns it. Unfortunately yesterday my experience was extremely underwhelming.
I just got a simple cheeseburger nothing more. The first thing I noticed about the burger itself was it was not the same meat that they were using on the food truck as of last year. It reminded me of a frozen patty with a dash of seasoning. What I remembered of milk can was a fresh juicy smashed patty and this was not it. I also ordered a side of cheese curds. They were extremely overcooked instead of golden brown they where I darker brown giving them an almost burnt taste.
I wanted to give the milk can restaurant a fair shake. I recently sent two coworkers there to give it a try based upon my experience at the food truck. Their experience was extremely similar to my and they said they would rather go to a fast food establishment and pay $5 for a burger that tastes way better than the $9 that milk can charges. I don't like believing what people say all the time because everyone's tastes are different but I need to say their evaluation was spot on.
One thing I do need to give you kudos on is the layout and design of the restaurant. You brought back the look of a malt shop almost and made interesting use of the space. I never could have imagined that the old Arby's could be transformed into something so beautiful.
If I have any recommendation to the owners and the management it is don't mess with success. You had a great product when you were running just the food truck. Now you deviated from the norm and ultimately it will hurt...
Read moreI was a little hesitant to try this location after reading some of the reviews but we are glad we did. We met my husband here on his lunch break & we ordered a small order of chicken bites, fries with cheese sauce, 2 fountain sodas, a cheeseburger and a Buffalo chicken sandwich and Our total was $33.74. It was a bit pricey but we enjoyed everything we got. The cheese sauce isn’t your typical nacho cheese sauce but it tasted more like a beer cheese. It was really good. The cheeseburger was done perfectly and evenly. We were really impressed with the chicken bites. The chicken was juicy and it looked hand breaded. You got a good amount for $4 and for a small at that. It was perfect for our toddler. Our sodas came in an open cup so I’m not sure if you are able to get a to go cup to take with you if you didn’t finish or if there was free refills. The guy who took our order was nice and helpful. They unlocked the patio for us to eat outside where they have smaller tables and then larger ones to accommodate more people. They have a handful of TVs inside and bar and booth seating. The booth we sat at was a bit dirty with crumbs on the seat but nothing terrible. The one employee even came to ask how everything was. It’s definitely worth it to join the loyalty program through the toast app. This order alone already had us hit our first reward of almost $5 off...
Read moreI took my grandkids to this place today for what we were hoping would be a great experience, However it was not! We ordered our burgers and I asked if the fries were included and the girl stated yes and then asked how many orders we wanted and at that time I realized it was an extra fee for each order. Our order came and the burgers were not the greatest as they were not that warm (Inside of the burger was a tad warm but the outside of the burgers were warm) . The fries were a huge disappointment as they were cold, yes cold! We decided to take the fries home to put into an air fryer. I asked the girl at the register for a bag and told her the fries were cold. She stated sorry about that. I then stated they were not even warm whatsoever and she just looked at me and said oh sorry. As we were gathering our things to leave I noticed she was shaking her head and saying things I could not hear as she did go to the back area where they make the food . She was looking at us and shaking her head. This was a huge disappointment today as I have had the food served from the food truck which was Sooooo much better than this diner in Muskego. Hopefully things will improve. 1 jack burger, 1 bacon cheeseburger and 2 cheeseburgers, 3 fries, 2 lemonade, 2 waters. The bill was $55.00+. A whole Lotta money and it was disappointing to...
