Short Review: AMAZING NEW BUSINESS that will ONLY get better the longer it sticks around!!!
Long Review: I cannot express what a wonderful business and a necessity to the community this place is. If you were to support any local business this coming Winter, I would hands down suggest this one. Truly an all-inclusive space with something for everyone. There's an incredible variety of high quality tea here that even if you're not a tea person, you're bound to find a tea you'll like. Even if you can't find a single one (which I doubt, there's seriously so many different and delicious teas), there's currently three flavors of gelato available with more on the way, as well as twelve organic popsicles with unique flavors. I've tried more than half of them and they're all high quality and delicious! Not to mention several Japanese snacks displayed at the counter. Their hot food menu is just starting up and if you take away anything from the long review, I would love for it to be this: The okuro miyaki (spelling?) MADE MY NIGHT when I had it. I've worked in food service for two years, and I firmly believe that you can taste when food is made with love (stop laughing). This is that. This is very much that. Hot, crunchy veggies in a savory, and rather large, pancake topped with mayo and a delicious brown sauce. Easy to eat with a fork, very little mess. This place is also supporting growing Michigan artists in Grand Haven and Muskegon, as well as there already being talk of more to come. I thoroughly enjoyed the current gallery of art that's on display, in addition to all of the fun trinkets by the register. Well made and fun to look at! The owners are lovely and generous people who care very much for their employees and customers. I have seen it in action more times than I can count. Each member of their staff is a vivid and friendly person who brings a unique, positive energy to the room. Their ability to make personal connections is a phenomenon that occurs often. Very sweet to see. Many of the locals, including myself, agree that there is a healthy need for places like this in the downtown area. Places that are open late into the night that aren't loud, crowded bars (to each their own). If you're someone who wants to get out of the house this Winter and find a productive environment to work or study, THIS IS THE PLACE TO BE. Free wifi, 1$ refills on teapots (you get about 6-7 cups from a singular teapot), and spacious...

I was immediately impressed by the expansive selection of unique teas they hand to offer. Notably, the Kuti Tisane caught my attentionâa fascinating blend made from coffee tree leaves. For those looking for something familiar yet adventurous, their range of special blends is certainly worth exploring.
The level of customer service was outstanding. The owner himself served me, going to great lengths to explain the multi-step steeping method employed by the cafe. This meticulous process successfully eliminates any bitterness, leaving you with a tea that is both robust and smooth.
When sitting at the counter, they use beautiful China dishes for servingâa touch that truly elevates the experience. It adds a layer of authenticity thatâs hard to come by these days.
But Cafe Tamaki isn't just about tea; the menu that goes beyond your typical tea house fare. I tried the okonomiyaki, a savory pancake that features sautĂ©ed spring veggies, cabbage, and sausage. Initially skeptical, I found it to be incredibly flavorfulâa delightful surprise that complemented my tea perfectly.
For those with a sweet tooth, the cafe also offers a variety of sodas, gelato, and other sweets. Itâs a complete experience that leaves nothing to be desired.
Cafe Tamaki is a haven for anyone looking to delve into the world of exquisite, craft tea-based drinks. . A must-visit if you find yourself in...
Read moreI was over on that side of town because I had to go to the post office and heard about Cafe Tamaki because someone invited me to the Facebook group, and I was curious to try it out because I love trying new things in Muskegon and love having adventures. On this day, I was having a terrible day and felt tired and weather worn, the heat was getting to me, so I felt sweaty and miserable. But, I thought, the café sounded nice because maybe I could sit and have a drink. The amount of teas are just magical, and it's overwhelming when you walk in because it's like a whole counter. Have you ever seen Spirited Away and the old man is reaching into boxes and just knows exactly which one to pull for the bathhouse? Like that, but with teas. The owner is so knowledgeable, charming and friendly in so many ways. It was such a pleasant time, and I had a shave ice with popping boba with mango, which made me feel alleviated from the dog days of Summer. It was wonderful, and I can't stress this enough but MAGICAL. He sent me home with a sample of the oolong milk tea, and I bought a cute little travel tea set. He showed me how to brew it, and I felt empowered. I want to go back to try the food which is this fish pancake (they're shaped like fish, they don't have fish in them) that has Nutella in them. Chill atmosphere. Wonderful....
