La Antigua Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Muskogee

Ever have food so good you wish your stomach didn't have a limit? Well that's this place!! I searched for about an hour before leaving my hotel for vegetarian friendly restaurants and it was between this place and a place called Amish Eatery. Amish Eatery would have been for breakfast but at the last moment I decided I wanted a Mexican lunch. So glad I decided that way! I just ate the best mexican food I have ever had! The chips and salsa they started with were out of this world! I got a veggie combo platter which has a cilantro enchilada a bean and cheese enchilada and a avocado enchilada with beans and rice. Each one tastes so good and so different from the other! I literally took a drink between each bite so the flavor would be new! Man Im glad I chose lunch over breakfast!! The rice... Amazing. The beans amazing! Sorry I'm just shocked about how really good this food is. I don't know if I'll be able to eat at another Mexican restaurant again. Even their tortillas are just freaking awesome! I was stuffed but couldn't stop eating. Super stuffed when I left! Can't leave flavor like that behind! All of that for less than $11!!! You can bet I tipped well! If in Muskogee Oklahoma and you love Mexican food... Look nowhere else! Get here and treat yourself!!! Staff were just as amazing and friendly!!! The restaurant was clean and comfortable. Yeah... 10000%...

This restaurant, and it's associated rating is something we call the "redneck rating." This place is only highly rated because the uneducated swine that gorge themselves here don't have the most discerning taste.

Food arrives on a plate the temperature of the sun, but just like college hot pockets, the rest is lukewarm and basic.

Queso is microwaved and flavorless.

Enchiladas are rolled tacos covered in aforementioned congealed cheese.

Shredded chicken from the can, that's the secret to quesadillas here.

The only passable entre was the flautas, generously provided in twos, just like Noah's ark.

As for the atmosphere, it's something out of a horror movie. Like when the characters are all eating at a terrible roadside diner because there's nothing for miles around... the AC doesn't work... The floor and everything else is filthy... There are ants in attack formation on the back wall... I'm checking the parking lot, waiting on the zombie horde to approach.

At least then, this experience of Muskogee fine dining would be over.

Save yourself the trouble and find now authentic Mexican food...

I literally couldn't sing their praises enough! This place is by far the best Mexican restaurant I've ever had and as an addict that's a serious statement. The food is just too good to explain, the portion sizes are huge and definitely worth your money, the food came out so fast but was definitely fresh and the people are so polite, friendly and chill. I've been having pregnancy cravings for some REALLY good Mexican food- we tried 3 other places in town over the last couple of months and they all disappointed in every area. This place made up for all our lost money everywhere else. My husband and I got 2 meals and then got 2 more to take home because we knew we'd want more as soon as our stomachs decompressed lol. This is our new favorite spot and will definitely be regulars again and again. If you choose anywhere else to get your fix, you're cheating yourselves. Can't possibly talk this place up...
