Hooray! for Huaraches! 4 Star “Authentic Mexican Food” (Note: The descriptive phrase “Authentic Mexican Food” when properly used, does not have the word California in it.) Don’t be misled. Today was 95 degrees. I am not sure the air conditioner was even working. The digital thermostat in the dining area was showing 87. Very warm. It was bearable thanks to a few functioning celling fans. And my last point wait time. Several reviewers have commented to the slow service. This is freshly made food. Hand made tortillas. It takes TIME. Order a side of chips and salsa. YOU have to order the chips and salsa! Not “just” to pass the time, but because….. The green salsa that is served with the chips is the most outstanding, flavorful delicious green salsa I have ever had. Thick tomatillo base with spices, cilantro, fresh tomatoes and crisp fresh onion. Fantastic! The crisp chips appear to be made in house. A perfect start to a meal and a tasty way to kill time. Save some salsa for your food! Authentic it is and authentic we shall have! I went with a steak huarache and a corn tortilla, jalapeno, chicken quesadilla. The young lady that served us said the quesadilla was actually called something else. I don’t speak or listen in Spanish. I closest word I can duplicate on Google is the term Sincronizada. Its description on Spanish food sites best fits the quesadilla family of food and may indeed be the word she used. Both items were excellent! I strongly recommend the steak huarache! They offer two squeeze bottles of sauce with the meals. A red and a green sauce. Neither got my attention because of the green salsa that came with the chips. My wife went with the Enchiladas Verdes. Four grilled chicken filled enchiladas with a light amount of green enchilada sauce, queso fresco crumbles, and cilantro. Beans and rice on the side. Authentic deliciousness, slightly different than OkieMex. Service, friendly and...
Read moreHonestly one of the strangest and worst restaurant experiences I've had. Came in at around 3pm on a Saturday to an empty restaurant. Group of three. We received the first food about 25 minutes into our visit which were my daughter's cold enchiladas, which were brought without her beans and rice! About 5 minutes later we get another plate with my ONE TACO that I ordered as an extra side for my burrito. Another 2 minutes passes and my girlfriend receives her order of nachos. About 2 minutes after that I recieved my burrito and had to remind the employee that my daughter never got her beans and rice and we never received the chips and queso that we ordered. I cancelled the chips and they finally brought the beans and rice on out. I then needed a drink refill so I went to front desk to ask. I stood there for no exaggeration 5 minutes while employees in the back of house looked at me and they were laughing and cutting up but nobody ever came out to get me refill until after that 5 minutes. It was just overall bizarre and a terrible visit that took us 55 minutes total when we were in a hurry. Figured a taco restaurant would be quick at the very least. I will not ever be back nor...
Read moreTaco Tia's is a Mexican gem in Muskogee. The tacos are out-of-this-world good. You choose your own tacos which is a corn tortilla Street type taco and is simply excellent. You choose the meat. They have al pastor and lingua which are my two favorites. They also have beef, barbacoa, chorizo, and more. I think I've had them all in there all excellent. They have sopes, gorditas, tostadas, as well as soups, which are one of my daughter's favorites both the chicken and the beef. They also have tripe if you like tripe. For the first time tonight, I had a burrito. It was wonderful. I chose the al pastor burrito and do not regret it I'll be a little messy on my part. I also had to have a lengua Taco. I cannot come to this place without having something lingua. They have much more on their menu, but this is all I can think of at the moment. We just were here two or three weeks ago and I've been wanting to go again ever since then cuz it keeps being on my mind it's so good. Make it on out to the southeast part of Muskogee and you will not be disappointed. We come from the porter area and don't even think about the trip...
