Update 3/27/2025: Went here on Thursday March 13th 2025 to purchase a new laptop that we were looking at online, and it said it was in store, so i wanted to look at it. Unfortunately, it was time for an upgrade as my windows 10's keyboard all of the sudden stopped working-, and we had a bj's here-- so why not? We walked in the store, and headed for the electronics department- although first we got 2 DEF fluid, then we went to the electronics department. weird thing was, we couldn't find a card to "ring up" the computer. We had to call a guy over to help us. While the guy came over to help us, I picked out a nice red computer mouse to use for the new computer. Then, after some waiting, the guy told us to order it online for pickup, and we could pick it up in store at that time. We did wait a while for someone with a key to retrieve the computer from the back, but once they got the key, it was an easy thing. I Thanked the guy for helping us so quickly, and with urgency. After getting the computer from a guy, we were taken to the pickup location to obtain a reciept for our items. Female cashier was very nice there, and printed a paper to show the attendant at the front desk that we paid for the item. Then we did something called easy checkout, in which we scanned all our items using our phone, and paid via the bjs card. Very easy to do at least. We thanked everyone for all their help in getting the computer to me swiftly. (After all, that is how I am writing this review!) Went on our merry way, and definitely will be back! -Went here for the 1st time with my dad and uncle on Monday March 10th 2025. First off, very happy that there is a Bj's around here because we have one where we live, and we will be eventually moving here, and it is convient because we shop at Bj's alot. Now BJ's is a members only club, so one has to sign up- not sure how the member fees are, but i think it is worth it so that one can buy items in bulk. Items that we buy here are windex, Toilet Paper, Paper Towels, Tissues and more. This trip, it was our first time in the Bjs. Cool that they have a spirits section of the store that is in the front of the store. We didn't check that out yet though. We immediately headed to the back and got milk, butter, Panera's Butternut Squash soup, ketchup, and a chicken spinach thing for lunch. We also got a Samsung TV for our new house. Went to a cashier, who easily checked us out. Reciept is also checked in the front. We left and went on our merry way. Will...
Read moreBJ’s is closer to us than Costco or Sam’s, so I wish the experience were better.
Our first trip was pretty basic, on the Sunday after they 1st opened - I didn't expect a great experience, the parking lot was overflowing, yet inside and the lines were pretty decent. Though as far as my purchases, I bought 2 lbs of Honey Ham lunchmeat and the packages blew up and actually popped when I took them out of the fridge (4 days before the best by date).
Our 2nd visit started off promising with a friendly greeter who actually helped me with a question—unlike our first trip, when the greeter seemed completely lost and not helpful at all.
Unfortunately, the rest of the staff interactions were unacceptable. I accidentally stepped into the path of an employee pulling a cart (while avoiding another shopper), and even though I immediately apologized, she scoffed and actually rolled her eyes.
The cashier at self-checkout treated my mother—who has her own BJ’s membership—as if she were idiot and was clearly annoyed at having to assist her with her app coupons. (Which is another aggravating issue - coupons don't come off automatically - so you have to scan and "clip" the ones you want in your app - not even an option to "clip all" - if you use the app to scan, it's easier to add the coupon, BUT you can only get 30 items if you do that. uggg.)
Then the employee checking receipts at the exit was also rude and dismissive when I tried to explain which items belonged to my mom.
Encountering a rude employee can be troubling, perhaps they're just having a bad day? But when you encounter THREE in one visit - that's a training and/or hiring issue.
With multiple unpleasant encounters like this, it's hard to justify the membership, even with the convenience of location. I don't think I'll be returning.
ETA: I decided I wasn't going to return, so I expressed my concerns in chat and requested a refund 16 days ago. They promptly canceled my membership, but it's been 2+ weeks and I haven't received my refund. This seems to fall right in line with everything else I experienced ... horrible customer service. From 2 stars -- to 1.
Update: I canceled my membership in Feb and it’s taken me numerous emails and phone calls to get to this point - it’s now the end of May and I’ve been told I’ll receive my refund CHECK in 6-8...
Read moreTLDR Complaint: (short version) At 6:30pm, I had an unacceptable experience at the deli counter. The employee was rude, dismissive, and condescending when I inquired about prosciutto, even making a sarcastic remark about the price. The interaction was embarrassing and unprofessional, and I believe this employee needs immediate retraining or disciplinary action.
Full complaint: Whoever was working behind the deli counter needs to be re-trained or fired. The way I was treated today at 6:30pm was insane. I was talked down to and made feel like an idiot. The lady was rude, and very snappy. This is what transpire: My wife and I just walked from the quality cuts section, over to the deli counter to see what was available. (This is only our second time ever being in the store.) my wife grabs salami and Munster from the precut. One lady was cutting something, the other was talking to a customer. So both are preoccupied. I never pulled a ticket to be called on, because I was just looking at the different deli options that were available. While doing so, the lady that was talking to the customer ( not fully sure her name it maybe said liddy, or something to that effect, on her name tag, she was a short heavier set older woman.) Stopped talking to the customer looks at me and says with an attitude, “can I help you with something “ I said “I’m just looking around your deli section to see what you all have.” She replies “ okay… what do you want” I replied “I’m not sure maybe prosciutto” she said “okay” there was a pause for a few seconds, I then said “how much is it I’m looking for 2lbs, I have a problem seeing the tags, I also cant see where the item is” she replied “well… it’s $8.99 pound and you want too pounds so what do you think that is? $16 dollars” I couldn’t believe the way she was acting, her attitude was unbelievable. I looked at her and told her to have a nice day, my wife was not happy about the situation either, it was...
