Tidal Creek Brewhouse: Where Brew Meets Beach Vibes (and Dogs Rule the Roost)
Picture a place where your dog is as VIP as you, your coffee is fresher than a morning coconut breeze, and your beer flight could probably moonlight as an art installation. That’s Tidal Creek for you—part craft brewery, part outdoor lounge, all attitude .
The Scene Giant palm trees, hammocks, fire pits, board games, live music, and a dog park (aka “K‑9 Korral”)—this isn't just a brewery; it’s Myrtle Beach’s chillest summer camp . You’ll sip a Breezy Blonde, toss a frisbee for Fido, and debate if that was a genius IPA or your hangover sneaking in.
The Beer They’ve got a lineup broader than your aunt’s gossip: Pilsners, IPAs, porters, even experimental small-batch brews. BeerAdvocate gets it: "Cozy brew pub atmosphere… good selection" . Just maybe don’t land here thinking you’ll see ocean waves—the view is palm-shaded chill, not boardwalk thrill.
The Food Pretzels so good they’ll make you forget your name, shrimp & grits that yell “Southern brilliance,” and buffalo wings that pack flavor without all that greasy breading . Hemingway would’ve named his boat after them. It’s the kind of food that proves bar bites can also be bedtime-worthy.
The Buzzkill caveat Yeah, you gotta walk up to place your order—no sassy waiter scurrying over. And TripAdvisor dabbers note uneven food quality and prices that flirt with “overpriced” territory . But hey, that’s Myrtle Beach hospitality for you.
The Vibe It feels like everyone’s chilling in grandma’s oversized backyard party—complete with board games, live tunes, toddlers wreaking havoc, puppies on mission, and an owner who pops in to say howdy . It’s warm, welcoming, and wide open—yep, your grandma would approve.
Verdict
Pros:
Beer selection = impressively wide (33+ house brews plus guests)
Food that’s actually worth chewing for—not just Instagram pics
Mega chill indoor/outdoor hang zones, live music, dog park, patio, board games
Community-first vibe: they donate $$$ weekly, keep it local, and sprinkle events like confetti
Cons:
Walk-up ordering = no rom-com waiter swooning
A couple TripAdvisor reviewers roasted the food/price combo
No oceanfront view—this is park, patio & pup, not beachside sunsets
The One-Liner
If Myrtle Beach had a “cool uncle” who brews beer, roasts coffee, throws backyard parties, and fosters random puppies on weekends—Tidal Creek Brewhouse is that guy. Just bring your appetite, your dog, your board game strategy (and a wallet that doesn’t flinch at $8 pints).
Bottom line: It’s hysterically fun, slightly imperfect, unpretentious—and totally worth coughing up a few extra bucks for the vibes....
Read moreWe visited the brewery today at around 5. We placed our oder and waited for our food over one hour, with an 4 year old constantly asking why everyone else are getting their food. After making multiple inquiries, the manager told us that the ticket was lost and that our oder will be made a priority and discounted/ brought out in 10 minutes. I told her that we are not really looking for the discount, but we would like at least the kids food. The food was discounted by the manager , but after 30 minutes later, we still haven’t received our food. The food finally came out (at this point, one hour and a half later), with no silver wear. We couldn’t eat it without the fork and nife, so we asked the same manager for the silverware and were told that it will be brought out right away. 20 minutes later and still no silver and at this point, cold food/ crying hungry kid….I went inside to get the silver wear and asked to speak to someone. The owners, Sawczuk coupe, showed up, holding beers and slurring their speech, giving us the attitude for even asking about the silverware (at this point it was exactly two hours after we placed our food). The owner couple asked us: what else do we want - we have already been explained that the ticket was lost? It is a brewery, but should the personnel drinking bear be addressing the issues? The attitude from the disrespectful owners was shocking. I haven never been treated this way in any of the service industry places. Please don’t support this business, there are many more local businesses that can be supported that care about their customers and the community. We have always supported this brewery; my work hosted multiple events there, and the food and customer service was always good in the past, until we met the people who own it. We are so disappointed…There obviously was a mistake with the oder, but the way it was handled by the owners, is truly shocking! There are other local businesses in Horry County to support. Please be aware of the people who are behind this business. I am editing the review to add that Sawczuk also accused my husband of lying about not knowing about the ticket being lost and after we got up and left, on the way out, the owner said to my husband that he is also going to comp our drinks. We are not looking for any comps and discounts. It wasn’t about that in the first place. We just wanted an apology and recognition of the issue so it won’t happen to other customers. We just want for everyone to be aware about the people who own...
Read moreHad an incredible experience. Jon, Barb, and Kyle were working the bar which was a very fun and inviting atmosphere. Jon was able to point me to a phenomenal double IPA which i could not have been more impressed with. I asked about the brewery and was walked through the back to check out the brewery set up which was unbelievably clean and impressive. I then snacked on Cheese Curds which were served perfectly with a tomato jam. I was then given the opportunity to try a taste of multiple other beers so I could decide on something to bring back home with me to the Charleston area. I was able to piece together a 4 pack of IPA’s and Hefeweizen’s which I though was a nice touch to be able to bring home a variety to my wife to check out. Lastly, before I left I asked about any places in the Charleston area that served their beer and Barb immediately called her supervisor to get a list. She gave me several suggestions minutes away from my house which was incredible. I provided my email and less than thirty minutes later, I got an email from Ms. Tess Sanford with an all inclusive list of places in my area to buy their beer. Long winded review all to say that I couldn’t have been happier with a place to have a great beer and good food. On top of that, Jon, Kyle, and Barb were wonderful hosts and Tidal Creek Brewhouse will be a necessary stop any other time I’m in the Myrtle Beach...
