I'd like to start this review by saying. I don't generally leave restaurant reviews. As a chef and restaurant owner I can be a little too choosy! That said.... Today, my husband and I tried The Pierogi House restaurant for the first time — and it was fantastic.
We ordered the Heritage Plate, which included a Polish sausage with a wonderful mustard and a variety of condiments like pickles, Korean carrot slaw, beet salad, sauerkraut, and the crunchiest half-sour pickles I’ve ever eaten. The plate also came with pierogis — you get to choose four flavors. We loved them all, but our favorites were the potato and cheese, and the mushroom.
It also included a traditional Polish stew that was absolutely delicious, and the cabbage roll was the best I’ve ever eaten. For context, my mother-in-law (God rest her soul) made a really fantastic cabbage roll… but these might have bumped hers to second place.
The interior is super clean, trendy, cute, comfortable, and classy. They serve Lavazza coffee — one of my favorite brands — and when they describe it as “a cup of silk,” they’re not kidding. The coffee is incredible, and the espressos are amazing. You’ll want to come back just for that.
The market section was wonderful and full of great options — including many of the items we sampled on the Heritage Plate. Be sure to check that out when you go.
The hospitality was warm and welcoming. Julia, our server, was friendly and very informative. Pete, the owner, came out after our meal and offered us dessert pierogis. When I tell you these were delicious, I’m not exaggerating — they were stuffed with a lightly sweetened cheese and topped with strawberry jam. But the most interesting part? The green candied walnuts. They looked like chocolate bonbons but were something entirely new to me — unique and amazing. Hopefully, they have them when you go.
Whether you're a Myrtle Beach local or just visiting, you have to try The Pierogi House. Oh — and I should also mention: they have fantastic croissants and...
Read moreI am of Polish descent and was really excited to try the pierogi house. We definitely need a restaurant like this in the Myrtle Beach area. My wife and I tried it this evening. My wife ordered the pierogi dinner (potato and cheese) and I ordered the Heritage platter with the stuffed cabbage. It was our first time there and not sure what to do and I think the girl at the register wasn’t really sure what to do either, we paid for our dinners right away and we did say that we were eating there and wanted to sit outside. We got our drink, went outside to our table, we opened the umbrella since it was closed, then after we had it open, someone came out to help. We waited 30 minutes before the young lady who took our order came out to tell us that they didn’t have the cabbage for my stuffed cabbage and asked if the stuffed pepper would be ok..it was ok but not letting us know for 30 minutes? They brought my wife’s dinner and I was still waiting for mine.. a gentleman came over and asked how things were and I told him, I’ve been waiting now 40 minutes and my dinner is still not ready, he apologized and went to go check on it. My meal came quickly after that. Other then that, the dinner was Outstanding. I really wanted to try the stuffed cabbage and the stuffed pepper was very good. Next time I hope they have the cabbage because I’m sure it will taste just as good as I seen on other tables. I do recommend eating there but don’t be rushed, the food is worth the wait but don’t wait to long to ask.. Update on us going back to the Pierogi House. We did go back the Following Tuesday and we did order the stuffed cabbage rolls and they were Delicious….i met and talked with the owner and told him that his Stuffed Cabbage Rolls reminded me of my Grandmother’s..they are that good. I really appreciate the time and effort they spend on making things right and authentic. I definitely recommend trying them out, it is...
Read morePierogi House has quickly become my go-to spot for authentic Polish cuisine. Their handcrafted pierogi are absolutely divine - the Classic Potato & Cheese filling is perfectly seasoned with organic golden potatoes and fresh European kosher farmers cheese. The Sauerkraut & Mushrooms pierogi showcase a beautiful blend of wild mushrooms with naturally fermented Polish sauerkraut that's both tangy and earthy. But the real showstopper is their Weekly Special - this week's featured filling had such vibrant seasonal ingredients and chef's inspiration that elevated the entire experience. Beyond pierogi, their Heritage Platter is a feast featuring traditional favorites like gołąbki (tender cabbage rolls with organic meat and herbs) and their famous Hunter's Stew (bigos) - a hearty, slow-simmered blend that's pure comfort in a bowl. The addition of house-made sour Moldovan pickle and crispy Polish kielbasa makes this platter exceptional value. The attention to quality is evident - from organic ingredients to traditional preparation methods. Their commitment to authentic Polish recipes while using fresh, local produce creates dishes that honor tradition while tasting incredibly fresh. The fountain drinks pair perfectly with these rich, hearty flavors. Whether you're Polish and missing home cooking or new to this cuisine, Pierogi House delivers an authentic, delicious experience that will have you coming...
