As an Award Winning Lancaster County, Pennsylvanian Chef, Let me just tell You there’s no place In the Market Commons that even compares to Travinia!
I imagine if You’re out reading reviews You’re on the fence between where to go and what restaurant to pick in the Large Number of restaurants and Similar Reviews Scores, I’ve eaten at Tupelo Honey And Every single thing I had was gross, so, Count that out, It’s nothing special I don’t see how it’s ever had one good thing said about it, Mediocre at best, So, If you’re on the fence between these two, Go to Travinia!
From the Door Chloe was so super kind, Gave us the warmest welcome and was exactly the Picture perfect hostess you’d Hope to have greet everyone, Our Server Kimmy was so good, with service Every bit as good as the food, We Booked Two times Here in One week long trip and even came back bringing four more friends tomorrow night at 6, I called in and spoke with Taylor for reservations and I actually thought for a second I was talking with Chloe again because she was super kind too, But Kimmy was so spectacular, I never order chicken dishes but their roasted chicken looked so good I had to have it and can tell you it’s the single best chicken I’ve ever had in My lifetime! Both My Husband and I will be ordering that again tomorrow night! The Italian Nachos can’t be missed, Every time we’ve visited over the last few years we’ve ordered them every time, I used to order the short rib pasta, But now, I could never ever have another Thing there besides that chicken, Kimmy was so sweet, I don’t eat Potatoes and Asked if I could have all Brusselsprouts instead, it was no problem, and it made the dish complete! This shows Travinia is happy to accommodate, because had they not, I wouldn’t have ever ordered that chicken or had the single best, most memorable dish in the South I’ve ever had, Nor would I be writing this review now, or coming back with Several Guests, after talking this place up so much, and what’s funny is we were brought Here years ago the first time by friends, This is the best of the best Around, Forget the rest, they can’t even compete, Kimmy was so good we even tried to request Her for Our reservation tomorrow, But she’s off, we understand excellence and fabulousness at that level needs Her rest, But we strongly encourage you to ask for Her because she was Incredible!
Also, the night we were there there was a performer “Will Ness” He was Absolutely incredible and should be the House performer because He was Just Perfection, Like the food, like Kimmy, Chloe, and Taylor, Such immeasurably special people / “ingredients” Here for the Perfect Recipe from the concept, recipes, the back of the house, through the Front you should all be very proud of yourselves for a job very,...
Read moreFirst of all, when I first moved here I have tried this restaurant out a few times. I stopped going last year due to lack of love for the food and they were having staffing issues.
I live in the market common and always see its pretty busy there and maybe the business is partly due to the wine/ bar area. But nonetheless, I have seen it’s been busy and thought maybe things got better, so I decided I’d do takeout yesterday.
I ordered the Shrimp Messina and Sinatra Chicken dish. (I’ve had the Sinatra chicken in the past)
I walked in around 8:30 on a Sunday 11-10-24 night to pick up my order. No one was up front but from the far end of the bar a woman approached wearing a baseball cap and I believe a sports jersey (lighting in the restaurant was dark) to help out and asked if I was there to pick up.
That was all fine, just not exactly the attire I’d expect from an Italian restaurant but it’s possible she was off work.
I then pay $45 for two entrees only.
Sinatra Chicken: I get home and open them up and I must say, I was surprised.. and not in a good way. The Sinatra chicken is supposed to be pan seared breasts and Capellini noodles…. Well not this time! I opened up to Bow-tie noodles, the chicken was on the bottom of all the noodles and was sliced thinly and what appeared to be some kind of seasoning that reminded me of fajita mix or old bay or some other kind of meat rub and was salty and dry on the chicken. Bow tie Noodles were very bland… There was no other coloring from spices and the “creamy sauce” was missing the cream. No bacon bits or anything, whatever the herb they show in the picture was also missing.
Shrimp Messina:
Shrimp massina had a HUGE portion of noodles with only 3-4 shrimp total buried in it, flavorless noodles… no Pine nuts… like they were just boiled and thrown directly into the go box.
You can tell that whoever made this food either doesn’t enjoy eating Italian food or doesn’t have the culinary aptitude to utilize spices, create sauces or even make things the way they are supposed to be from the restaurants own menu because there’s no love in it and it’s projected into the dishes.
Someone should never go to an Italian restaurant only to be wishing they would have gone to Olive Garden, the bare minimum.
I honestly hope they get a good chef/cook.
The only reason I’m giving 2 stars and not 1, is because the employee that checked me...
Read moreI live in Myrtle Beach and I am a General Manager of a Restaurant here. I have dined at Travinia several times and have never had a problem. Sunday night my partner and I brought 5 friends that are all local and live here full time. One of them being my Assistant General Manager and his wife. We sat at 7pm our server Angel seemed to be very busy even though there were only 4 tables in the restaurant. We ordered drinks waited about 20 minutes before they came I got up and went to the service bar and they were not there or rang in. Ordered appetizers they took about 30 minutes, and only half of the 4 ordered came. I ordered a bottle of champagne and was told after it was opened that there is not a chiller for it by the manager and he sat it in the middle of the table left to get warm. When I went to the hostess and asked to speak to the manager, he came out and listened to the concern as to why our server is so distraught and needs help. I said we have been here and 4 of our drinks were wrong and sent back after waiting for them, appetizers took forever and we have been here since 7 it is now 830 and still no dinner. A table of two young guys sat and had a salad and complained as well and left cause they had no service and dinner never came. When Dinner came the food was not as good as it has been in the past. The Carbonara was very dry and the chicken was not as it is usually thinly sliced and laid over it was chunks of grilled chicken and it seemed as if our food was under the heat lamps for a bit of time. We had tickets to see a movie at the commons movie theater at 9pm seeing as we did not receive our dinner until 915 that was a waste as well. The manager came by and said he took off two of the appetizers and hopes we come back. I can say that I and the group I came in with will not be back in. As the other couple are regulars at my place of employment and said i do not see why I would come here ever again. I am very sorry and I never leave a bad review, But as the manager was not very concerned with the service and food I would leave this in hopes that something may be fixed for future guests. Your restaurant used to be very good and a place we liked to entertain and frequently visit but I have to say things need to be fixed in your restaurant starting with Management...
