I took my two children with me today, just arbitrarily on an errand so that I could spend some time with them in earnest, I went to Market Common to run an errand. I put the truck in the 1st street side spot I found, and when we got out of the truck, I’m standing next to heaven. Behold! Keep it Strange Comics & TOYS!!!!!!!!! I sent the kids in and put them on their best behavior (👀 not 🙌), and set on down toward my errand a few shops down. After collecting my belongings at said errand, I set about gathering the kids (and checking out this cool store omg). As soon as I walked in, I felt like I had passed on to what will be my personal heaven. Before I completed my 1st circle, using every discipline in my beleaguered lil head to keep my cool, mind you, I picked up a Hasbro Toys G.I. Joe Night Raven from 1986. Historically, Joe was before my time, out of my price range, and just otherwise unavailable to a (very) lil dude, as I was when this was released and on shelves. As such, I generally don’t pay much mind. 🤷♂️ Today was different. This particular toy is different. Why? LOOK AT IT!!!!! Anyway, if you’ve been following along with my “This Far, No Further” theme for this week’s look at my life, then you know that I believe in Capitalism, I believe (so deeply) my many, many blessings that I am so eternally humbled and blessed to be given as much as I have, some being just by chance, that I was on a weird high today lol. Today was just another chance blessing. I found myself in a circumstance that I decided was not only, ya know…..Woooooo-Hooooo!, but teachable in explicitly every discipline that I have been teaching these two beautiful, little beacons of light and hope. So , negotiations began. I wanted to channel my inner Commander & Chief, so to speak, and i pursued my conquest in complete earnest. It took time. And I was not in a hurry, and I was fine with the outcome, regardless. So I started getting to know the folks around me, and that was the real buy. But, I met three new people. One owner, one employee, one customer selling a card of value. All just adding to an experience that I will be peddling my nonsense about until I’m too old to remember. I politely stood my ground on my price. And I walked out paying the price that I put on the table, negotiated, made jokes, expressed jubilation in such a circumstance, and I did some serious networking. The crowning achievement? Those two children bore witness to all of it. If your children hate you, it’s 150% your fault. If your children love you, you are 200% a good person to somebody that really matters. And, the icing on the cake was that it was a 24K Gold Pressed Moment of Civil Presence in America. It was a display of local capitalism, negotiation, and everything that the United States was founded to be. Give me Liberty or give me Death! I got a Gen 3 Super Soaker in the garage. 💦💦💦🔫💦💦💦 A side note that may or major be relevant,…. My gf...

Read moreWe were visiting from out of town and thought we would take a look at this place although when we got there there wasn't another door that somebody had to leave for an emergency I contacted the owner to find out what was going on and he assured me that somebody would be there shortly it was a little bit of a wait but I'm perfectly fine with being patient. We were welcomed kindly and we stepped inside and there was a very clean and very organized collectible shop. Being a collector myself I scoured over the entire store looking for something that would catch my eye which unfortunately did not however I'm sure any collector would find something in there new and old. Even though I did not make a purchase it was worth the wait, this store was something I wish I had...
