Green Door — Restaurant in Napa

I've been to bars across the world while enlisted in the military and I was essentially 86'd from this bar because I asked one of the bartenders to return my change that he took for a tip.

It will come off as a rant, but I believe this should describe the treatment one expects from this bar when they enter it;

While bars are sometimes busy, you should normally expect to receive service in a reasonable amount of time. When the bartender spends most of his time chatting to the regulars while patrons sit without a drink when they first enter this is a problem.

When finally served, after ten or more minutes, I had not planned to tip as I normally do tip. Instead the bartender took my change and threw it in his tip jar. Rather than cause a scene I waited till my next round came and reminded him my change was never given to me. The bartender proceded to cause a scene; emptied his tip jar, took out my change and dollar and slapped it on the bar, followed by doing the same with my change for my current round. His scene was loud enough to get the attention of those around me, and likely would've silenced the bar if it was dead as it sometimes is (depending on the time). I still tipped him, because the second round served was reasonable and semi-quick and I felt it was deserved, and I also took his rude behaviour with a smile.

It wouldn't be fair to leave out the fact that I had texted his girlfriend after leaving the bar (As she was sitting very close to me and I assume she had witnessed the scene, which if one was witnessing, makes the customer look like a cheap jackass while the bartender retrieves his tip and slaps it down infront of a customer, and we had known each other from high school). I attempted to explain my actions, in much the same way as I did above, but she explained she didn't witness it, and I apologised and told her to disregard my story as I didn't intend to drag her boyfriend through the mud; merely explain my story.

I ended up being 86d as I got off work late and stopped for a brief drink the next night. Given, I was only 86d on the nights this bartender works, but apparently his co-workers and boss stood beside him and supported this.

What confuses me is how any establishment or business can respect blatant disregard and disrespect for their customers. Given, this is a dive bar, and one might expect low standards. That said; I would never, ever treat anyone like this. Let alone support the actions of my coworker/employee if they treated a customer like this when they were clearly in the wrong.

That said, the rest of the bartenders (Who work far more often) are excellent and respectable workers. I guess I should just search for "rate...

Owner Greg reach out to me and Happy to say that he sent me a T-Shirt. I will definitely will give this place another when I return to Napa. Thank You Greg rectifying the situation.

Here from Chicago and we were looking for after dinner cocktail and decided to try this place. Will NEVER return again! The bartender was HORRIBLE, RUDE, NASTY! We like to get t-shirts from places we have stopped at I asked the bartender if we can see different sizes so she went back and got them and each time she would take the ones that we where looking at back while we where deciding on sizes. I told her don’t worry we’re not going to steal them and she proceeded to say I can run fast if we did. WTH was that all about? Then kept telling us it’s a cash bar which we were well aware and had no issues with that. FYI we paid our bill and left and we never bought...

8-29-25 My first time coming here and it was ok , the bartender a girlSuper rude and honestly if u can’t handle people that comes to drink and have fun you need to get another Job . We Went there with my friends and she came to me to tell me to shut up. Mind me i was dancing and signing and once in a while a would scream not a crazy scream more like a wooow happy scream . And she just went to me and said, “Can you just shut up , u been screaming and is annoying “ i just look at her surprised and didn’t said shit mind me a i was drunk but i dont like to argue when im drinking cause im in my happy mood.
