This place serves egg-free cookie dough in the same way as ice cream. (Although they do also have a dozen or so flavors of ice cream.)
Their cookie dough is incredibly sweet and delicious. I love sugary treats, but even I can not eat it all in one day. I tend to eat about half one day and put the rest in my fridge for the next day. I prefer the chocolate chip and sugar cookie dough flavors.
NOTE: I am severely lactose-intolerant, but I can enjoy those previous flavors of cookie dough without fear. The chocolate chips are not very milky at all. However, they probably do contain enough milk product that they MIGHT affect milk-ALLERGIC people, I do not know.
They do not have tables, post-pandemic. Prior to the Pandemic, they USED TO have little tables in a back room, along with some 1980's video game machines. But that tabled area has not been open for customers since lockdown. (As of February, 2024.)
They have one bench inside the store, and another just outside the door, for sitting and eating.
They also have a selection of brand-name prepackaged candies for sale, along one wall. Parents should be aware that your kids are undoubtedly going to ask you to buy some candy.
The store is located within steps of the famous Riverwalk. If you can make the time, be sure to walk along the Riverwalk in any weather which allows any kind of stroll. It's a VERY long and peaceful meandering route.
Pets are very welcome on the Riverwalk. I do not know if the Cookie Dough store welcomes them, but since most customers only come in to buy food and leave, then I would GUESS they would have no problem with a VERY well-behaved dog, if the dog was not staying longer than required for buying food. I cannot say for sure. The bench area is large enough that a leashed dog could be kept away from other customers, but the ordering area is VERY small and not appropriate for dogs.
On the nicest-weather days, it can get very crowded in downtown Naperville, and parking can be a hassle. While there are parking spots right outside the shop and all along the street, these are invariably occupied. However, there are parking garages nearby within a very short walking distance from this store. I suggest the one across from the "Rosebud" restaurant. It has two floors of parking, and each floor has different entrances. Most days, they have plenty of parking there, and on busy days, you usually just need to drive around for a few minutes until a spot opens up.
The Cookie Dough shop is a great treat and well worth taking any extra effort required to visit here. Sometimes we drive into downtown Naperville just to have some of their...
Read moreWent with my family (teenage daughter and 9 year old son and husband). I just wanted to shout out and thank the 2 female employees who were working today (5/18 around 3 pm).
I asked them if they had any gluten and soy free options (I apologized for being a burden. Im not allergic, but I do have an autoimmune disorder, and these things trigger flare ups).
They confirmed the gluten free items but weren't sure about the soy and instead of just saying "idk" like I hear so much of, they looked for ingredients list, called the manager, went above and beyond. I didn't know they did that and felt like they did too much, but I appreciated it so much! And you both did it with a smile and tried to make me feel so much better for asking.
Additionally, I had to ask if they had any un refrigerated water bottles for my son who has SPD, and even though they didn't, they still checked everywhere.
You guys rock. I felt so bad asking you guys so many questions, but you both were awesome, and whoever is your employer should be proud and give y'all a raise!...
Read moreThis place is RACIST!!! If you ain’t white, blonde, blue eyed they will treat you like crap. Came in to celebrate my child’s Bday. After I had paid $40 I asked for a taste test of a flavor for my toddler and the lady in the picture with her hair in a bun straight up laughed at us when the guy taking my money said “No, because you already paid!” but they got no problem giving a taste to a bunch of white teenagers. In what world does that make any sense???!! Because I already paid??? SMH I made it a point to talk to the middle aged women and express how bad their service was and she continued to laugh. As I walked away she kept laughing until I walked out. No apology, no understanding of the situation and how quickly they took my money. Horrible customer service and nothing to rave about here! I know this Buisness doesn’t care but I will never come to this place ever again. Save yourself the headache and rudeness, and go...
