I hate sounding like a Karen so I really try not to complain, but I feel like I’m losing my mind here.
I placed an order for 100 doughnut holes for a party 2 days in advance. My father-in-law went to pick up at the allotted time and was told that no one working that day knew how to use the doughnut hole machine, so it wasn’t gonna happen. They offered us some doughnuts, but I had sent someone else to pick up the order and we didn’t have time to wait around for them to be done so we declined. I figured I’d get my money back no problem.
This was Sunday. Called Monday and was told the shift leader there doesn’t know how to do that, and we should call back the next day because a manager would probably be in. Instead we left our information for a manager to call us. We waited and heard nothing, so we did call back. We spoke to a manager who said they also could not do that, and we needed to contact the store owner via email. The only way to do that is through a generic ‘contact us’ box, so we did, but this is beyond frustrating.
I am honestly baffled that I placed an order on a Friday, didn’t receive it on Sunday, and it is now Wednesday and there is no refund on the horizon. How do you not have someone on staff who can refund an order? Forget that we don’t have anyone working who can make the advertised product – could someone have called me at any point up until then to tell me they couldn’t fulfill it? Why wait until we come in to say ‘oops’?
Truly if someone had just told me they couldn’t make the order even that morning, I would have moved on and not cared. Instead, I talked up these stupid doughnut holes and then had people at the party asking me where they were and I got to tell them the doughnut store didn’t know how to make doughnut holes (that I ordered days in advance). Make...
Read moreMy wife and I were driving along Rt 59. doing our weekly garage sale/estate sale adventures when I saw the sign "Duck Donuts." I asked her if we should turn around and go there as we're always looking for new Mom and Pop eateries to try out. Well I flipped a U'e and there we went. Jokingly as we drove into the lot we were like, "got any chicken donuts?"... "No sorry we only have Duck Donuts." hahaha. I also told her that we can just leave if we don't like what we see and especially if they're 3 bucks a donut.
Guess what? They are about 3 bucks a donut and we did NOT leave. Here's why. Jamari (name on receipt) explained to us how it worked as we looked at the pictured donut styles and he further explained that they were custom made right there, right then, right in front of us. We were sold and got a couple of them namely, Bacon in the Sun and Bourbon Apple Bliss. I don't remember her name, but what I consider a Donut Chef made them spot on and they were delicious, WARM and very visually appealing as well.
One thing we didn't like was that there were no listed prices anywhere for their offered items and I can understand that someone seeing a $2.75 donut may not be willing to buy and try one so most likely that is why the prices aren't listed. I'll tell you one thing though... so what. I did and would gladly pay the price for what we received for sure. Way way better than any computerized, conveyor belt crap that DD shovels at you for $1.50 a pop. Guaranteed...
Kudos to you Duck Donuts for offering a PREMIUM donut at what I consider a reasonable price for sure. Next I'm going to try one of those breakfast sandwiches since I can only imagine how good they are if even only ½ as good as...
Read moreI was in need of a breakfast sandwich and for some reason it's hard to find one if you're trying to avoid the typical chains or a frozen breakfast sandwich. After doing some searching, I found Duck Donuts. I got the Sausage, Egg, and Cheese breakfast sandwich with donut as the bread choice (you can also choose an English Muffin for your bread choice), maple drizzle and chopped bacon on top. Also got a Strawberry Shortcake donut and an Iced Mocha. Overall everything tasted good and I felt like I got my money's worth. The flavors were good in the breakfast sandwich and the maple drizzle added those notes of maple syrup flavor to the sandwich. Also enjoyed the Iced Mocha, flavors were well balanced and I've been craving the drink to be honest. It's some time aince my visit so I can't recall much about the Strawberry Shortcake donut besides the fact that I believe it was a cake donut and ultimately I ate the whole thing 😅 I would need to have more than 1 donut flavor to have more of an opinion on the donut end of business. I had placed a pickup order online and one thing I appreciated was that they had tamper proof stickers on everything. So if you ever ordered via doordash that’s an additional safeguard the restaurant themselves is putting in place. Staff were nice and welcomed me when I came in as well. I would definitely recommend and come back again particularly for the breakfast sandwich...
