Sharko's BBQ — Restaurant in Naperville

Wife & I came in last Saturday night around 8 pm. Placed seemed busy, so I got excited. I ordered the half-slab of ribs, mac & cheese & fries. Wife ordered burnt ends sandwich & green beans. My ribs (served in foil) were tough, fatty & really didn't taste like they had ever been in the smoke, as they had absolutely no bark (or color). They may been in the foil for the whole cooking process? I managed to eat half of them before giving up. The mac & cheese was just, bad. I didn't think I would ever get mac & cheese in a restaurant I wouldn't like, so that was a first. I will say the fries were really good. Sadly they were the highlight.

The wife had to go back & ask if they got her order right, as she's never seen shredded burnt ends. Judging from the huge amount of fat in it, I told her well at least it looks like it came from the point of the brisket, but again, not much flavor & way overcooked. She loves green beans, but was not impressed.

We don't live in the area & just happened to stop here after seeing all the 4 & 5 star ratings, but I'm pretty sure area residents maybe just never had truly GOOD BBQ. I'll chalk it up to experience (at $55.00 for the two of us) & stick to places down by us (like Cherry Red Roasters in Dwight or Firewater in Joliet) that know what good BBQ is. This is a FAST FOOD BBQ. I don't really go to this kind of bbq restaurant, but my experience here deserved 5 stars. I had the smoked turkey sandwich, fresh green beans, and a fresh lemonade made by the house. My teeth cut through the sandwich like butter. The turkey was seasoned but not overpowering. Almost couldnt tell anyway because I decided to put some of there sassy sauce on it which just made it that much better. Not one bite of the sandwich was tough. The bread was freash and soft which made it easy to squeeze and also allowed the sauce to be absorbed by the bun so there wasnt much of a mess. The green beans were seasoned and cooked well. They were what they're suppose to be. The lemonade was fresh. There wasnt an old taste to it like it had been sitting out since the day before and the sweetness was spot on. Not too sweet where I needed to add water. You get 5 different sauces at the table with a roll of paper towels for any mess. They also have a small ice cream machine with tiny cones near the exit. Free of charge. The people were nice and professional. They have a sign up that apologizes if they run out of your choice of meat because they are so busy. I have no negative comment about Sharko's. DO NOT CATER HERE!!! I picked up an order today for Easter Holiday lunch to host at home. Upon getting home to serve the food I noticed that the order was short 2 sides. I called immediately to let the store know and had my husband drive back while I served what I had. The answering employee initially told me I could not speak to a manager...then the catering manager gets on the line (on speaker) told me and my family that she was too busy to handle my complaint. Then she asked if I had photos of the food to which my husband put her on video call... I showed her the food we received laid out on the counter. I asked if there was anyone else that is available to which she says "I can't handle this right now". I asked if I could talk to the owner then and she said his name is Rob Sharko and that "I've already told him about this and He DOESN'T WANT TO TALK TO YOU!" ---How could that be if I have only spoken to you?? ---How inappropriate to be asked for proof of food on a video call... as if I'm lying on EASTER of all days!! What a horrible experience and interaction to have on such a blessed day and in front of family.
