Disclaimer: I am not a vegan. Merely trying out this vegan restaurant.
First some facts: Atmosphere in the restaurant was not so great. Small place, no one eating inside on the few small tables they have available, fans blowing hot air so no air conditioning, service nonexistent.
Food: decent in my opinion. Although my wife just stopped eating after a couple of bites. Takes about 20 minutes for preparation so I know they’re making it fresh which is appreciated. The owner/chef seems like a nice guy who takes pride in his food. But… he didn’t want to say a word at all when he delivered the food even though we were the only ones sitting there in the restaurant and it was pretty dead otherwise.
We had: Nachos - which has beef, cheese, jalapeños, tomato’s, sour cream. Avocado jerk chicken lettuce wrap - served with cheese, avocado, cilantro and tomato. Like I said above, both were decent in my opinion but your mileage may Varian you might not like it at all like my wife did not.
One shining point about the whole experience: Lavender lemonade! which seems like it’s made on premises. I thought the taste of this lemonade was amazing. I would come just for that next time.
Overall, sorry but I cannot recommend...
Read moreRead moreHard pass. Went to this place for lunch this week while visiting my parents and was totally underwhelmed. The food took 25 minutes to make which is laughable as I got a simple wrap, the dude at the front desk was rude and couldn’t answer basic questions about the menu, entrees do not come with anything, not even fruit or salad which is a basic expectation at every quality vegan restaurant I frequent, the wraps I got for my partner and I WERE NOT worth the $30 they charged us (what a joke - I could have made much tastier wraps at home for 1/10th that price) and the menu itself was super boring and limited. You call yourself a vegan chef by offering avo toast and nut butter on bread? Please. Super lazy, uninspired and unimaginative menu options for an actual vegan like myself. Why do people go to this place? My experience totally sucked. I’m from California so perhaps have an expectation for a basic level of vegan cuisine, but honestly this place was terrible and was beyond disappointed. Rude staff, lackluster and bland as all hell food and wayyyyy overpriced for poor quality of dishes. Will never ever...
Small local and fantastic! I have to say as a chef who is vegan I find it hard to meet with family in the burbs and eat. So I chose to find a place for myself to enjoy. My sister is vegetarian, my niece is mainly plant based. I found the Vegan bar! And wow! We chose a mushroom “chix’n” wrap, Harts of palm fish tacos and a vegan patty melt! The food was great, awesome actually! They make their own flavored lemonade. We had one of each Strawberry, ginger and lavender! They were perfect. Their sweetness and flavors were perfectly balanced. The young couple who was there are the owners and they were fantastic. I had to walk through the kitchen, which was spotless and as a chef, you can imagine I’m pretty particular when I walk through the kitchen I really want everybody out there to know how great this place is. In a world, a strip malls and chain restaurants. This place is fantastic for lunch or dinner even if you’re not a vegan or plant based I hope everybody supports them as we need more independent,...
