I travel to Naples for business frequently and have been to this place several times before and always had a great experience. The ambience is pretty unique and the food is great. So, when I traveled with my family this weekend and my daughters wanted burgers I figured it would be a great place to go. They could have their burgers and me and my wife a good steak. Unfortunately this visit was fairly disappointing. First and foremost I can understand that things happen and not every visit to a place can be perfect, but it is in how managers and staff deal with issues that you can differentiate good from mediocre service. To summarize, we sat outside so we did not have to wait. Outside seating was fine (we were the only ones out there), could use a couple fans though. We ordered and then waited, and waited, and waited. No word from the staff or manager as to the delay. 30 mins in what I guess was the manager came out to just "let us know what was going on", no apology, no sign of concern, just said that they had a big party inside and that once they were served we would be next. Then we waited, and waited. The server came out at the 40 min mark and refilled our waters, but no proactive communication as to status, so I told her we were ready to walk out, this had been enough. She went back in and finally the presumed manager came out with our food. Again, no apology no sign of feeling bad for our experience, no empathy. The food was great, but at that point my wife and kids' experienced had been ruined. Asked for the check and it came as if everything had gone perfectly. No sorries, no nothing. I used to like the place, but at this point not sure I would go back....
Read moreI'm a local chef & the Jalapeño Wagyu Burger was literally The Best Burger I've ever had at any restaurant in the last 20 years. Never have I stopped in for lunch at Jimm P's Charred on 41 near the mall. I've only ever flirted for dinner, but never actually went, I'm so happy I visited for lunch today. It's literally the best Burger I've ever had in 20 years & I'm not even being dramatic. This burger had serious flavors! They could improve the overall plating of the Burger. But the flavors were spot on. Perfect medium, delicious, substantial, cheesy, just the right amount of spicy, nice high-quality Brioche Bun, high-quality ingredients. Beautiful thick pickles, nice sweet onions, lettuce that was shredded & and crispy, not Wilted, cooked on a true old school char grill, the flavors unmistakable. Jimmy P's "special burger sauce" was great on anything, spicy, sweet, tangy BBQ sauce. Staff was friendly & the place was clean & well kept. You can see into both kitchens & everything was clean & upkept. Bathrooms clean. The booth I sat in did need the seat cushion replaced from wear & tear, but that's because so many booties have sat there to eat. What a surprise. I'll never forget that, Burger. I hope it's consistent, I pray when I visit next, the flavors to be exactly the same, the delicious tater tots, the cheesy goodness, the spicy Jalapeño, the pepper jack cheese . Oh, man. I need another one, but I can't fit it in my tummy. My wife absolutely concurred. Her BBQ Burger was also insanely delicious. I will revisit to update my review with another experience just to be fair & honest. Jimmy P's don't change my...
Read moreI have been to this place before, it is a unique and personal favorite of mine. I really enjoy their meats and their creativity, as well as the common courtesies and dedication exercised by the staff.
I would like to especially revolve this review around the flexible, decent menu and wide selection of meats, eats, wines, and frozen foods.
This establishment’s menu also has a rare – at least in my mind – feature, allowing you to pick your cut of meat from the butcher shop and pay its price, plus a small extra fee. I sure enjoyed my Wagyu Baseball cut today!
I have been coming to this place once a year for the past 3 years, and including today I’ve enjoyed each time superbly! However, I recall I enjoyed the first time more, due to the fact Jimmy P’s used to have a bacon-wrapped filet on their menu. Sometime after my first visit however, it was removed, and while I am a little disappointed in that, I’m basing my review on the experience I had today, not past experiences.
Today my aforementioned Wagyu Baseball Cut was brought to me rare when I had ordered it medium. I did not notice this at first until I had cut the meat. While I could forgive that misunderstanding easily, since I had at first ordered it medium-rare and changed it to medium seconds later, I could’ve been on a sort of diet, or training regimen. The customer is always right they say, and I endeavor to follow that old axiom.
This restaurant is quite wonderful, but I give my visit one star short of what I wished, unfortunately because my steak wasn’t cooked...
