We went in here thinking we found a gem. Seemed like a small town place, looks like an old drive-in. Unfortunately we did not find a gem. A group of men sat at different tables but was having a very loud group conversation, with not very kid friendly talk, which I did not appreciate since our 7 year old was with us. The waitress wasn't exactly rude but wasn't friendly towards us either, I felt more like an inconvenience to her, the couple that came in after us got big smiles and hugs and we never got a smile at all. The food came pretty quick after ordering it but that's possible to do when using unseasoned premade beef patties, that were dry. My mushroom burger had a total of two mushrooms on it, with one being just a sliver, the caramelized onions were barely cooked and the bun was dry with most of the top flaking off. All in all the burger sucked and there wasn't enough ketchup to make it any better or less chewy. The fries were good though. Sorry I didn't get pictures, I was just to...
Read moreThought this would be a neat little home town place but it could use some updates. Some men were discussing town issues and one was rather loud and vocal concerning his displeasure which was interesting. The food is not the best in town as the sign out front indicates. My husband had fried fish which âmehâ.I had a turkey Manhattan and with the first bite was very disappointed. Since Iâm not a picky eater, I truly tried to eat it. The turkey was very generic slices and I managed to eat it but the gravy was nasty. The mashed potatoes were disgusting as well. They tasted old like they had been in the freezer, thawed then heated in a microwave! Needless to say I left a full plate of bread, gravy and potatoes. I mean how can mash potatoes be so messed up? I would not recommend that restaurant at all. Robert Irvine would blast them for such...
Read moreThe sign says âbest food in townâ⌠NOT! Hubs and I had âmeat and eggsâ breakfast. Fortunately I asked ahead of ordering whether the biscuits were made here or not⌠waitress said âwe heat them up hereâ. Ha! We both chose pancakes rather than biscuits with our eggs, meat, and hash browns. The eggs were good, hubâs sausage was not. The pancakes were average, definitely from a cheaper boxed mix. The pecans I asked to be added made them edible. Hash browns were made of real sliced potatoes (probably baked potatoes from yesterday?!?) and were good but not great because of the oil. Bacon was crisp and thin sliced but greasier than normal. Patted it off and it was good. Expected more homemade food at a diner in Napannee, IN. Iâll be visiting an Amish...
