So we called the #99Restaurant located in Nashua NH at 8:31pm tonight (06/13/17) to let them know we had a party of 10 people, and would be arriving in about 10-15 minutes... The host who answered, confirmed there was no line or wait at the present time. So, we all leave the house and make a quick pitstop at Market Basket before heading down the road to the restaurant, arriving aproximately 15 minutes after the initial telephone call.
We check in upon arrival, with no one waiting, we are told it's going to be five or six minutes to get the table ready. After 10 minutes of waiting, the restaurant manager, who happens to be standing at the host station, was asked what is taking so long to set up the table? The manager very rudely responds with: "you didn't call until you got into the parking lot outside" and proceeds to quickly walk away. Mind you, this is now 25 minutes AFTER the initial call...
It's only at that point that they begin to set up a table for our group. Of course, only after waiting several more minutes we finally get seated.
It doesn't end there...in short, not all of the orders were correct, and the food really sucked, but that's irrelevant in comparison to how the restaurant manager treated us shortly after arriving.
And finally, to add insult to injury, we asked to speak with the manager at the end of dinner to express dismay with how he handled being questioned earlier. The manager again proceeded to get very defensive, changed his story at least twice and then accused us of verbally assaulting him when we arrived.
Not so sure f I will ever return to that #99Restaurant location after the poor treatment we received...
Read moreMy wife and I chose to go to one of our favorite restaurants on a Saturday night after we got done working at 11pm doing deliveries for many of the local restaurants. After what seemed like negotiating with the host to get seated, I apologized for being that late night couple that I dreaded when I was a 1st cook at this same location almost 20 yrs ago, but stated that our options were slim this late and that we hadn't eaten at all that day. The host states before checking that they may be able to heat up the soups we had wanted due to the cold night and that the options would be limited to fried items. If we had wanted all unhealthy fried stuff, we would've went to a fast food place instead. Finally after waiting for him to talk to a manager the host came back and said they could try and offer most of the menu. But after hearing the cooks whining about being subjected to cooking an order during business hours my wife and I felt guiltfully forced into Turkey clubs and Gold Fever wings. We finally got seated but waited over 10 mins for drinks and that was after he took our food order and only because I asked him, "what about drinks?". I'm the type of individual after 20 years I the industry and a co-founder of a successful restaurant in Hudson that NEVER sends food back and almost always tips at least 20%...We got our meals before our app. But what really upset me was the guilt we were made to feel, not getting offered drinks and most of all the clear as day remarks of disgust from the kitchen. I think we'll go back to only ordering take out here...
Read moreReally uncomfortable experience yesterday. The hostess asked us if we'd like the round table or high top by the bar. We went with the round but once we saw how big it was, we felt bad taking up such a large space(2 of us) and opted for the high top we were offered. Maybe a minute after we sat, the bartender very loudly scolded the waitress for seating us there. This was happening near us, maybe a few feet. It made us uncomfortable but we tried to just let it go and figure out what to order. The bartender then continued to lose it on the poor girl. She made it clear that she didn't want to deal with us and and that we shouldn't be sitting there because she's too busy. She just kept going on and on, even pointing directly at us multiple times. I can understand that one person can only handle so much and a conversation away from customers would have been understandable but causing a scene right in front of us was embarrassing and incredibly uncomfortable. We really are pretty laid back about things usually buy this was insane. I will not be back. I'd like to add that the waitress who moved us to the high top/bar area was super sweet. I believe her name was Sarah. I felt so bad seeing her being berated for something that the hostess(not her) had offered us. We got up and left before ordering. It was just too uncomfortable and we didn't want to feel like we were...
