This was my second time being here. The picture below is the figgy piggy burger and it was dope AF. I didn’t expect the fig jam to hit, but it absolutely did! My wife and our friend sat at the bar right when they opened for lunch. It was chill. Our bartender was awesome.
Yesterday my wife and brother-in-law dined on the patio. Shout out to our server, Justin. He was warm and welcoming. He asked us if this was our first time and we said no. He welcomed us back. That really set the tone of the evening. His energy was on point. His humor was wholesome.
One more thing to note about Justin and the serving team, my wife didn’t feel like the pineapple passion fruit drink was up to par. Justin’s teammate addressed the issue and gladly took the drink back to the bar to remake it. She still thought it wasn’t up to par. The thing we appreciated was Justin coming back to us to ask her about her feedback because he heard about it. My wife said that it may have been her palette. The point I’m trying to make here is this - usually a manager will come to address any guest issues in a high alert, attentive way, but what we loved was that Justin took ownership and addressed it with us. It was refreshing to see that.
We all had burgers. We all loved them! I had the Big Bad Wolf burger. It was good, but I would choose the Figgy Piggy any day if it was available.
The patio bar will definitely come in clutch during the summer. A beautiful view of downtown Nashua by the river.
My brother-in-law and I had a long day of moving into his new apt. Small gestures from the staff and the positive energy they brought to service went a long way for us.
Shout outs to the Hidden Pig and their staff! The Hidden Pig should be the “Hidden Gem” of...
Read moreThis place might be serving my favorite food in the city right now - if we’re talking food alone, this place is an easy five stars. But so much of a dining experience is tied into atmosphere and service. The bartenders are all kids in their early twenties who have the warmth of someone who just did thirty milligrams of Adderall. Not rude by any means…just vaguely distant with no rapport and minimal eye contact.
The dining experience as a whole seems to be an afterthought to the food. When they first opened in the heat of summer, the restaurant was sweltering hot and humid for the first month or two. It only takes a couple days to get an HVAC company to fix that, and frankly it should have been rectified before opening. The decor is practically nonexistent - there’s no character whatsoever to the dining area. The interior design directive was something like “How many TVs can we fit in this place?”
The visual design of the menu is unattractive and the menu itself is nothing more than a flimsy piece of paper. When I receive it I always notice how tattered and unclean it looks. The menu is the first way a customer interacts with and thinks about your brand, for this reason it should be carefully considered.
The food, though, is incredible. Truly a delight. Every time I eat here I’m blown away.
If you look at my profile, you’ll notice I give out 5 star reviews all the time. So why give my favorite restaurant in the city a long and highly critical 4 star review? It’s because I genuinely adore and care about this place, and want it to be the best it can be. With the restaurant’s location and the quality of its food, I know it’s just a few small adjustments away from perfection.
I can’t wait to see what...
Read moreSandwich was ok. Fries were not. I know they just opened but jeesh the service was bad. Server came over to take order and then 20 minutes after we finished eating. Got up to get our own napkins (no silverware either). Overall, they have some work to do to actually call themselves a "gastropub" and not just a really, really slow fast food place.
Reply: Certainly none of the tables in the Nashua lounge area have paper towels or silverware. Didn't get a chance to look at the dining room. You asked what meals we ordered, pork sandwich and fries. Fries tasted like BK fries except much more expensive. Definition of a "gastropub" is a pub with gourmet food and that is far from what our experience was. We barely had a "pub" experience given we never had a chance to order a second drinks. Check your cameras if you think we are blowing smoke. Not only did we get our own napkins (from the bathroom) and never got silverware but another patron had to get up to flag down someone for salt. February 10th, between 6:30 pm-7:40ish.
Also, the table is equivalent to one a child would use in their outdoor play set. Plastic and cost couldn't be more than $10 unless the U.S government controls your costs.
Or don't follow up, ¯(ツ)/¯ we won't be...
