Nice place, nice staff. I give it 3 stars excuse when ordering a soy base, it is very inconsistent. There's a guy with long hair who makes the soy ice cream as close to the texture ice cream should have each time with the marshmallow sauce and he says it comes standard with the ice cream, but when I mention it to other employees, they seem confused, charge me for the marshmallow and the icecream is still slush. I ordered over the phone today a cherry flavor with extra cherry mix ins. He asked me to clarify at least three times and i said exactly "cherry flavor with extra cherry mix ins". When my sister brought it home to me, it was slush and there were no cherries. Still ate it because ain't no way I'm driving all the way to the shop and wait in a huge line of people to just to get it fixed. The other bases seem fine and no disrespect intended, I think the store shouldn't offer the soy base unless the employees are all on the same page and there's a set method to making it, otherwise you're paying for disappointment 80% of the time. I probably will come back but only order if I see that one employee there. Definitely do give the place a try. Again, it's a nice place, the employees are nice, it looks very sanitary there (except for the one time the soy was expired and slurped out and back in the carton like silly putty, that was very...
Read moreSuch a fun place to visit to watch the kind staff make ice cream and sorbet with liquid nitrogen! Little kids and big kids alike are fascinated by the process. The assistant manager was working this evening and was warm & wonderful, telling my pal’s daughter about their STEM program visiting schools and making ice cream. The ice cream was very creamy and a nice treat. But I have to add one more detail to my review. We were finishing up our ice cream at 9, and the staff locked the door. While she was finishing with the door, a woman came up to it, and the staff told her they were closed, but then, the next thing I knew, she was unlocking the door and opening it again, saying come on in! The woman at the door had her daughter behind her… and the staff member made sure that sweet little girl and both her parents got a dish of ice cream after 9! How very kind! After a long day stirring custom flavors, being on her feet, and with an hour of cleaning remaining, she didn’t have to do that, but she did. :) Thanks, Sub Zero, for the ice cream & the kindness!
Also, it’s probably best to visit earlier in the day; there were quite a few blue lights flying down...
Read moreThis place is pretty cool. Sub Zero has many flavors and toppings that you can add either inside or on top of your treat of choice. I opted for both an ice cream trio combo in a cup and then I also opted for a chocolate shake with chocolate flakes inside. I will say, I love the idea behind Sub Zero. I understand that their interesting way of creating ice cream makes them stand out from other places that sell ice cream. I did notice some things I didn't really love but it's really nothing too crazy. It would have been nice if there was more than 1 size for a shake. I did think considering the size of the cup was a bit expensive for the shake because though it was good, it was super watery. I just feel that it was not quite worth the value for a shake that was so watery and small. I definitely would recommend their frozen treats but only if you can eat it right away. Their ice cream does melt super quick. Other than that, the place is pretty spacious and they have handicapped accessibility throughout and just a really great place to spend some time with...
