I was exited to see another usa chicken and biscuit closer to home. I walked in after seeing the open sign on out front for days. When I finally came in, I was not disappointed. THIS IS GASSS, like I'm being dead serious. I don't know if I was just mad hungry or something. But it was an amazing first experience. I walked in and was Instantly greeted by one of the brothers that runs the spot, his name is Moe. and he was nice off rip. We conversated about how crazy it was that they had a Halal bowl here (if you haven't tried halal, get it, they sell it here) and I bought, a jamican beef patty, a chicken n biscuit, a halal bowl, and a burger. It was 31 dollars for all of that. Which to me is extremely inexpensive. The food tastes good, the people that work there are nice and personable, it's not crazy expensive. And the food didn't take forever to come out. I waited 10 minutes to get all that food. For some people that's too long but this ain't no McDonald's. Very impressed. Will 1000% be coming back again. On a side note I don't even write reviews for places on Google, I feel like that's for weirdos that think that their phantom gourmet or something, so for me to do this I gotta feel some type of way about this experience. Shouts out to Moe. You made this visit...
Read moreI went on day 2 of operation. The staff was friendly and provided excellent service. The prices are good, considering the high quality of the food. I ordered chicken tenders, fries, and mozzarella sticks. Everything in my order was scrumptious, but I suspect that all of their food is delicious. I'll certainly be returning to test that theory. The dining area is limited in size, so you may not always have a place to sit and dine, but that can't be helped.
To management: Please consider adding a mango habanero sauce. It's my favorite for chicken tenders. Thank you for the welcoming atmosphere, prompt service, and delicious meal.
Update: In the three weeks since my initial review, I've continued to eat here about twice per week. The quality of both food and service has remained consistently excellent. I've tried about 85% of the items on their menu and have enjoyed everything. If you're looking for something hot and delicious, and don't want to spend a lot of money, I'd strongly suggest giving them a try.
In brief: You won't leave hungry, but you will...
Read moreI haven't had fried chicken in years so this place has been on my list to visit. I was downtown on a Saturday around 1 pm, so I had to try it out for my lunch. I chose the 3 piece bone-in chicken combo which came with a side. I chose the coleslaw. At this time the chicken was not made ahead so it was about a 15 min wait. It was well worth it.
The chicken was hot, flavorful, and super crispy. The coating is super thin (like a simple flour dredge) and lets the chicken remain the star. The coleslaw was of the creamy variety doused with a lot of sauce. It was also excellent. The biscuit was fine but did not stand out against the rest of the meal.
The dining area is a simple affair with 4 tables and a couple of high chairs. Once the nearby construction completes the river view might be pretty nice.
For a chicken place there are a lot of other options. The display case had a number of good looking cake slices, but I...
