So, went there today around 430(ish). Start off was pretty good, friendly server. Much of what happen could have been completely avoided with simple communication. Communication between the kitchen and FoH manager, to the servers. I work in F&B and know how it works, or in this case, doesn't work.
Ordered the chicken sandwich. Comes with fried chicken breast, white BBQ, pickle, and jalapeno cole slaw. Our drinks come out, and we wait - finish our beer, and wait. Server comes out and says "the kitchen lost our ticket for a minute" but she has it on the fly and we'll have our food shortly. Sure enough, the food comes out a few minutes later. Chicken sandwich has no slaw. Nothing said by the server, no form of communication. Food just left. We flag her down, and tell her it is missing, and she says "yeah, I asked them about it and was told we are out." Immediately, this goes from a $12 burger to a $7 burger. The slaw is what made this sandwich special enough to bump the price.
Service level immediately spiraled to non-existant. Had to flag her down again as I wasn't happy with it. Just before that, saw another "chicken sandwich" pass by with no slaw. Either they are not telling anyone they are out, and just selling it, or it was ordered without. With my most recent experience, they are selling it without and hoping noone says anything. Had to flag our server again to ask her to take it off the check - just wasnt happy with a chicken/pickle sandwich.
Nothing from the manager - she was on her phone and chatting with servers - we could see her clearly from our seats passing out papers from the expo window/servers station. Had to wait again for the server to bring the check. Check dropped and sandwich was removed. We was given a beer token for our next visit in hopes to save face for the missed opportunities for correct kitchen/server/customer communication.
Doubt we will be back to that location. It use to be the best place to go to with great atmosphere and food. Apparently it's lost A LOT of it personality and is geared to tourists. Beer token will get thrown away, or maybe taken to a different spot.
What beats it all -- for June 2022 - the burger of the month is one with jalapeno cole slaw on it, and flyers blasted everywhere for it. At least TELL your customers you are out so they can pick something worth their time (and yours), otherwise it's a waste of food and labor. Not to mention I left hungry. Actually stopped at Zachby's for a chicken sandwich on the way home. You can do better. This is ALL Food...
Read moreIt's a great accomplishment to be a successful restaurant in Nashville, especially in a location that has become a high growth area. But ML Rose has done that and more! As my last visit was nearly 8 years ago, my recent visit was quite a pleasant surprise. This establishment has not only sustained their high standards of great customer service and superior quality food and beverages, but they have expanded their Charlotte Avenue location, and are also operating stores on Melrose and the state capital areas. And are in progress of soon opening another new business in Mount Juliet. Amazing!
Now to the food! We ordered the new Veggie Verde Nachos and the BBQ brisket wrap. Each was served super quickly to our table which was certainly a welcome relief as we were ravenous! The presentation was superb, escalating our anticipation of sampling the fare before us. And they did not disappoint. My nacos sported home-made tortilla chips, topped with spicy queso, black beans, roasted corn and just enough jalapeños to bring the heat on!
The BBQ brisket wrap was equally scrumptious, cooked to perfection and accompanied with a delightful sauce to compliment the flavor of the meat. Served with waffle fries, it was a filling and fabulous meal!
M.L. Rose also has an extensive craft beer menu, featuring many local brews along with popular favorites. We chose not to sample the offerings since we had my grandson with us. However on previous visits we have tasted the various selections and enjoyed every option we tried. Don't miss out on the choices available including seasonal varieties.
Did I mention impeccable service? This establishment excels at meeting your every need, without being intrusive. Many other local restaurants are trendy and treat customers as commodities. Not ML Rose. Totally considerate, yet personable while displaying respect to each guest at the table. Commendable!
I hope you visit ML Rose soon and have enjoy your food and surroundings as much as we did! You...
Read moreI have heard great things about this restaurant and was looking forward to a great experience; however, I did not receive this. Myself, and 9 others arrived, sat down, and waited to be served by 12 noon, exactly 1 hour after the restaurant opened. Our server, who never shared his name, took our orders after we were seated for 20+ minutes. As we sat and waited for food without any refills on our beverages, we watched as other patrons, including some that we knew, were served their food. 12:30 PM rolls around, 30+ minutes, after we've ordered, and still there was no food. Some of us even offered to pay for the food while we waited longer for it to be prepared (we ordered nachos, a side salad, a quesadilla, burgers, and fries - we at least thought the appetizer would've come within 20 minutes). The manager came and spoke to a few of us, but did not address the entire table or anyone else who had questions or comments. After being a M. L. Rose for over 1 hour and 15 minutes without ANY refills on water and without ANY food whatsoever, we left. The manager was no where to be found and our server, bless his nameless heart, was doing his best. I would not recommend this location and I honestly am not sure if I'd give another location a chance, especially considering the fact that this occurred within 1 hour and 30 minutes of the business being opened. There were literally 4 other people in the area we were seated in when we arrived and all of those people ate and left while we were still there. I'd like to hear from this location, why should I come back; why would I come back; how does the business plan to improve to prevent such negative...
