We have been purchasing their espresso beans at our local grocery store for a few months so we were excited to purchase the beans fresher and try the drinks at an actual location. The bagged beans were about a week since roast date already, but still fresher than a grocery store, so we will let that wash. However, oddly, they are about $4 more a bag at 8th & Roast compared to the reseller. Also, staff was not extremely knowledgeable in the origin of the beans used for the blend. As for the drinks, I am always very specific and order the same drink when trying a new coffee bar, breve cappuccino, dry foam, drinkable temperature. The taste of the espresso was good, as expected since I use the beans at home. I was happily surprised that the temperature was exactly what I wanted, as most places still have it scalding. What failed terribly, though, was their milk steaming capabilities. You are not able to do a dry foam cappuccino if you have no foam at all. The drink I was given was equivalent to a no foam latte. There was no difference, actually, between what was supposed to be my cappuccino with dry foam and my husband's latte, except his was the...

As a recent transplant to Nashville (Austin to Seattle, Seattle to Nashville) I found the cashier to be unhelpful, disrespectful, and uncompassionate.
Her behavior seemed to be race motivated.
When asked what ingredients were in the tea I ordered she said she wasn't sure and proceeded to get me to read it for her. Before I ordered I let her know I was new to the area and had never been there before.
She walked off without explaining where to go next.
I found a spot to sit as I was meeting a client there.
The cashier came up to me five minutes later and said "you need to leave, I didn't know you were going to sit down and stay, we don't allow dogs, you need to go"
She refused to listen to what I had to say and walked off.
I gathered my things and immediately ran into my client; We spoke outside the doors as it was pouring raining outside.
I'm fortunate to have wonderful understanding clients but I would not recommend this location if you want to be treated well and respected as a...
Read moreHave came here once or twice before and always really enjoyed the food and coffee.. Today unfortunately was a bit different. Was having a meeting and the place didn't seem too busy however, with only 5-7 people that were in front of me it took roughly 20 minutes to finally get up to the front. I'm not sure if understaffed but it was a bit crazy at how slow things were moving, then the only item I wanted they were out of. Was a bit disappointing. Felt bad for the person I was meeting with because he had to wait a long time for me to finally put my order in and be seated they got lucky and came in before anyone was in line. They did offer to take a discount off my order and were extremely nice, it's not a customer service issue. More so an inventory/understaffed issue. It's such a nice facility surely it can afford to have enough food items in stock and an extra helping hand...
