I ordered a Works pizza late last night and time stamp on box said 11:18 PM. It was Saturday and they closed at 1 AM.
I picked up pizza a little before midnight on my way from work to my mother's in Clarksville so I didn't have to cook when I got there because most stores/restaurants would be closed by then.
When I got to my mother's and looked at it, it was loaded with ham. More ham than I've ever seen on a pizza (and I'm not a fan of ham on pizza), the cheese was very sparse, and I realized after a few bites there was no pepperoni (which is my favorite topping, but that's kind of irrelevant).
It was well after closing time by the time I opened the box so I couldn't take the pizza back or call. So I just ate some of it because I was so tired and hungry. I threw the rest away. (I guess I should've taken photos to document the toppings but had no idea I'd be challenged about the toppings later on.)
I got busy at work today so forgot to call the store on Old Hickory Blvd until about 6 PM. They put me on phone with female named Brandy/Brandi who I assume was in charge of store at the time. I told her about the pizza and asked if I could get some credit since I ordered it so late & couldn't call store or take it back by the time I was able to eat it.
At first she said there was no record of me ordering Works, then found it, then said they come with ham on them. That that's one of the toppings, as if I didn't know that. I had said it had a ton of ham, not that ham wasn't a topping, but I let that go. Then I reiterated that there was no pepperoni. I decided not to mention the cheese because her tone was that she didn't believe me & I didn't want to sound whiny.
She told me that I should've called last night before they closed and I said it was closed by time I got home/to my mother's. She then told me she would give me credit "this time" but I should've called when they first opened this morning. Which I couldn't do because I was at work. IDK what difference the time I called made, but anyway she made it clear that I had to call the store to get the credit, couldn't order online and use it, and her overall tone was of a chastising, disbelieving parent, condescending me and making me feel like a child.
I rarely complain about food unless there's something really wrong. I have never called this store to complain and I've ordered many pizzas there. If she looked at some kind of records she could probably see that I never complained before. I felt like I was being accused of lying and made to feel guilty for calling.
I get that the person I spoke to probably has to field calls like mine a lot, but I'd like to tell managers that not everyone is lying or trying to get free pizzas when they call to complain. Please don't treat us all like liars who are trying to get something for free.
Now I am reluctant to order from this place again. Not so much because of the poor quality of the pizza, but the way I was treated by management. (I will say that the man who handed me pizza at drive-up window was very friendly and actually had my pizza in hand when I pulled up, which was nice.) I've never had a pizza made so sloppily at that location before and I am wondering if it was because it was right before closing and they were tired & checked out mentally...
Read moreI always order online for pick up, saves me time & money on a delivery & keeps me from holding up one of their drivers when I can easily pick it up myself. The past few times I've been there have slowly gotten worse, with my last visit being an absolute nightmare. I was notified that my order was ready & upon arriving, I was told that it was a mistake & it will be done in another 10 minutes. No big deal. I understand mistakes happen, so I waited patiently in my car so I wouldn't take up space for other customers coming in. 20 minutes went by with no update, so I decided to go in to check the status of my order to discover that my order was canceled because "they thought I left." I never mentioned anything about leaving & even told the guy that I was waiting in my car. He told me since they are busy, it would be another 30 minutes for my order to be done. I decided to wait, again, since I was already there. 30 minutes later, they had not even started on it. After that, I just went to McD's down the road...too much stress over two pizzas &...
Read moreLet’s just start off that I love papa john’s pizza. Yet, this location can not produce good customer service, let alone good pizza. Every time you call to put in an order you get put on hold therefore you can put in an order on the app quicker than on than on the phone... problem #1. When they give you the estimated time, we always show up at the latest time they give you. Yet EVERY time we go to pick up it we have to wait an extra 15-20 minutes. The past two times they have done this to us they have given us burnt pizza... after we have waited the additional time and already paid on the app. We try call to get this fixed because we don’t like leaving bad reviews, but you can’t even get someone to answer the phone to resolve the problem. Just save your time and money and go somewhere else for pizza. Highly...
