We have been going to Seoul Garden since about 2010. Seoul Garden and Jack's BBQ are the two restaurants in the Nashville area that we frequent the most and take visitors to.

Even though we like Seoul Garden, its service can be frustratingly inconsistent. On more than one occasion we have said, "If that was the first time we visited Seoul Garden we would not be back." In such situations the service has been very slow, cold shouldered, and unattentive.

For dinner the food has always been good. Everything on the menu that we have tried has been excellent, for dinner. It is the quality of the dinner time food and our lack of knowledge of a better Korean restaurant in Nashville that keeps us coming back.

We have tried Seoul Garden twice for lunch and have not tried their lunch again. Both times service was horrible and the food was cold.

In our opinion Seoul Garden staff has a very difficult time handling stress and busy times. When the restaurant is not so full of customers, then the service is generally friendly, efficient, and helpful.

Not sure if service varies by type of customer. The very best service I have ever had at Seoul Garden was when I took an elderly Caucasian gentleman to dinner. He had never tried Korean food and the staff was so helpful in explaining things and very attentive.

The worst service, or I might say no service at all, was when I took some Ghanaian visitors to the restaurant. We arrived about 20 minutes prior to closing. They told us the kitchen was closed and would not seat us. Not sure I should, but I'll give them a pass. None the less it was a bit disturbing.

Even though service is a mixed bag, we continue to give them business and will probably continue to do so until we find a better Korean restaurant in the Nashville area.

So what are our favorite menu items? We almost always get beef bulgogi and bibimbop. We always enjoy the selection of kimchi appetizers. We also often enjoy their soups.

Give Seoul Garden a try, hopefully you will get...

Terrible service I went in today with my kids after the servers kept telling us to sit down my nephew (8month old) had his hand on the table and the lady squeezed it and removed it from the table, I wanted to order and she told me to wait my son asked for sriracha and one of the lady’s said she didn’t have any he walked up to another one and that lady gave my son sriracha when the First Lady that said there was none saw him pouring sriracha on the plate she proceeded to snatch it away from his hand and put it in the table we felt very unwelcome from the beginning very hostile atmosphere towards us since there was a couple of kids I guess they didn’t like that it is stressful enough for us to go to restaurants with our kids imagine if the servers make it even more stressful I will never be returning. They wanted to give us 1 check and we wanted 2 they didn’t like that, my cousin went to pay for both our bills and I walked to the car I only left $8 tip in the table since service was terrible they proceeded to held my cousin hostage because we were not leaving a tip until I told them I would call the police. If you have kids you know how kids are and to be honest ours were not running around or anything like that but they did get up from the chair and multiple servers kept telling them to sit down and just doing the most. VERY RUDE! I shouldn’t have left them any tip I’m actually very generous with tip when ppl deserve them 20-30$ tip usually. You can’t demand a tip this...

Had to wait 15 minutes to be seated. After about 5 minutes though, an older Asian gentleman came in and was helped immediately. They gave away the private room reserved for his party and he proceeded to scold them and left. I should have taken notes. There were maybe 3-4 empty tables with previous customers food still there, none rushed to to be cleaned off whatsoever. Asked to be seated at a bbq table and was told "there are none" when two were cleaned very promptly for the older man who denied them due to the fact it would split up his group. Took a while to have my order taken although the workers did not seem very busy. We were completely treated like dirt. We were not given our drinks(had to ask for them after our food came out) , snarky attitudes by one skinny, older lady with dark hair. She threw the food on the table. Nobody came to check on us a single time while we watched every other table get service. A family that came shortly after us was even offered a bbq table after I was denied. Overall a pretty terrible experience. Oh yeah, and my food was over cooked. The older lady with the attitude followed us out and just stared out the door after we payed. Not even going to say the problem, but it sounds exactly like what you...

The thing about the tips are true. I lower this to a 1 star. I'll confirm this a second time.. after being secluded with my white and Spanish friends in a separate room while seeing all of the Asian people eating the main dining area, we had to get up and tell them 3 times we were ready to order. Then when my friend order something apparently "too asian" the lady comments I don't think a foreigner can eat this. As we are leaving we have a group of 6, one of the friends tips generously. And the other 4 tip. Only one of us didn't tip. They question the 5th person. Why you no tip, and I'm just like my friends tipped generously, and I told them, I didn't like a comment they made. They then decided to follow me out the door, and started harassing my friends about how I didn't tip them. They basically harassed one of then onto giving another tip, and they were furious at 2 dollars and then demanded more. Bring cash, they will automatically charge you 18% tip to yoir card for terrible service. Also order waters. Coke are in cans, no refills, 3 dolla. Also they lock their doors 2 hours early. The food is alright.

This used to be my favorite Korean restaurant in Nashville times have changed. The quality of the product has slipped and the prices like everywhere else has increased. After enjoying their beef bulgogi for years I would probably eat the lunch version of this dish cooked in the kitchen over cooking it myself on their new electric grill. The main reason for this decision is because the fat content increased in the ribeye steak used in the cook it yourself version. You also now have to pay extra for the romaine lettuce in either version of this dish. They went from charcoal to gas and now to an electric grill which also reduces the enjoyment of cooking it yourself. I still love Korean food very much but like I said at least In Nashville times have changed.
