Used to live in Chattanooga and there wasn’t many steam boys, I was so excited when I moved here in Nashville, and there was one not to far from me. First impression, the atmosphere was very cute, loved the art on the walls. Second thoughts were, That the bathroom was dirty. I didn’t think much of it. When ordered they was out of a bunch of stuff, or didn’t sell them at this location, again things happen and sometimes things go by quicker than expected no big deal. It was completely empty so I just assumed we came after a rush. Eventually I just got some basic things and called it quits after being told multiple times they was out of something or didn’t sell it. Received our food a bit later, we asked for some sauce, and they forgot. I asked again, she came back with one tiny cup for multiple people…okay. No biggie…we will just work with what we got. The waiter didn’t seem very interested in helping with anything, some moments it seemed like she was purposely ignoring us. Again, we was the only one in there beside the door dashers coming and going. Now fast forward to the present, every single person who was with us, is sick in some way. Throwing up, diarrhea. We didn’t really narrow that it was because of this, until most the people said they was fine until after they ate the food. I’m not sure if maybe the people just was in a hurry, and didn’t prepare the food properly, or what was going on. I’ve been throwing my guts up all day, all the food I ordered has been thrown up and all I really taste is a soapy odd flavor. Honestly truly not the greatest experience, hopefully it was just a hiccup and this isn’t really how they treat the...

We got a recommendation for Steam Boys for the best dumplings in Nashville- it was tasty! There are 5 Steam Boys scattered around Nashville and one in Chattanooga.
The Tiger sugar milk tea was to die for! It was probably one of the best Bobas I have ever tasted, and I am a Boba snob:)
We got four seared Bao—two pork and two beef—and a large bowl of Vegetable soup. An order of 2 seared Bao is $7.25, the large soup was $14. We shared the soup and the bao between us. While we prefer the less greasy tastes of southeastern Asia, our meal was still great, especially if you love the greasier Northern Chinese food. The Bao buns were thick without being overbearing; the pork was our personal favorite and the spicy chili sauce was a great dipping addition. We ordered mild soup, the mildest that still has any spice. While it was a bit too spicy for my wife so she added soy sauce to pair it down, I enjoyed it. The snow peas especially were a highlight of the soup.
We’d love to come back again to any of the Steam Boys! The recommendation was well worth it. Now we’re recommending...
Read moreThis was my first time trying Steam Boys. My partner picked up the order. We both ordered the same two things; seared pork bao, and zha jiang. First, the seared pork bao. The bao was seared in cornflour which gives it a flaky mouthfeel. The inside of the bao was made up of pork, ginger & green onions. These three ingredients make for an undeniable marriage of pure bliss in your mouth. When dipped in sriracha, it elevates this bun to god tier status. Second, zha jiang. This is a great big bowl of brothless noodles with a pork & tofu meat sauce and leafy greens. What's not to love about that? The sauce, sweet & savory, was mouth-wateringly unctuous which coated the noodles beautifully. The leafy greens added a nice textural crunch to the dish and of course the chili oil that is provided adds a powerful punch of delectable heat that enhances the umaminess that is this dish. This was my first time ever trying baos and zha jiang. I was beyond satisfied with my dinner and I already can't wait to eat from here again. Do your tastebuds a favor and order from here today! You...
